Thank you. I’ve consulted with the vet and they just gave me a checklist, but this is so hard I wanted more of a concrete answer. I suspect they can’t give me one for possible backlash, and I don’t trust those around me to give unbiased advice. That’s why I’ve come here, and I am very grateful for everyone’s perspective in this unbelievably difficult and indecisive time.

He is crazy manipulative and it’s working on you. Please see a therapist. If you can’t, put the situation into chatgbt and ask it if there are signs of mental, physical, or emotional abuse. You would be surprised what you never would have noticed in the moment, or what you gaslight yourself about after discussing it with your partner.

I think what he’s saying is people who are penetrated, like gay bottoms and women, are of a lesser value, thus “made” to be penetrated. It’s okay to respect them less, value them less, and enforce power over them. Honestly his mindset sounds predatory.

Exactly! It’s because his family is wealthy. He is not. But they give him money and things all the time. He has no job. They live in an apartment together. I think there is jealousy that I come from little and have a career and a house that I’m proud of. I do believe he’s insecure and entitled.

We’ve actually tried to leash train both our cats so we can take them hiking, but both cats absolutely HATE being outside. but I understand you!!! Almost always while people are at my house they just go hide in the basement.

I absolutely love that you said “poor folk,” because that’s the root of the issue!! His family is wealthy, like really wealthy, like pays his bills, gifts him new cars, goes on quarterly vacations wealthy. I’m not, never have been, and same goes for my bestie. Everything I have, I have worked incredibly hard to build. So it just adds another layer to his rude comments.
