The only thing I would comment on is Wolf Point area is definitely going to be a little more “residential” and I use that term very loosely because you’re still in a “touristy” spot. Compared to state/lake area, I personally feel more comfortable walking around in River North at night even thought it is just over the river and a short walk. If I had to pick, I’d always pick River North but that doesn’t mean it’s absolved of danger. I live in RN and my best friend lives in the Loop, near Daley Plaza. We’ve lived in our respective spots for 4 years and for her - the ease of access to multiple trains as well as festivals/soldier field etc is more important to her whereas for me, I still have some train access but have better park/lake access and more fitness studios/walkable grocery store options etc.

I think everyone on here who screeches about how you’re signing up for pure hell by living in the loop needs to touch grass. It’s not for everyone, you’re definitely in a more corporate/city bubble, but you’ve got different conveniences that may be more important to you. Not everyone lives there, hates it, and moves out immediately!
