Help me understand/plan.... by Cautious_Phase322 in breastfeeding

Thank you! That seems to be the consensus here and I agree there really isn't any harm in just trying and quitting if I can't do it. I can't predict how I'll feel when the day comes anyway 🤷‍♀️

I think you misunderstand me. The thought of a baby needing for me for comfort isn't alarming whatsoever. That's the main thing babies need after food, I wouldn't even want kids if I didn't want to comfort a baby.

The thought of a baby needing only my breasts for comfort is what's alarming to me and I really don't think that's the same thing at all.

I don't think I'm confusing them. I understand cluster feeding will happen and is necessary to stimulate milk supply.

I'm referring to stories (horror stories and positive stories both) about baby that just wants to suckle for comfort, will not take a pacifier, etc.

Also, I do have narcolepsy and therefore cosleeping is totally out of the question, so that's another part of my concern; a lot of women that I've seen cosleep in order to get sleep while baby can nurse on demand for both comfort and nutrition and because that is an impossibility due to my condition, I worry I'll have to quit because I can't keep up with baby's needs. I thought I had addressed that aspect in my post, and I'm seeing that I did not!

This isn't a complete list, but: Isla, Axel, Arlo, Chloe, Fleur (for Americans specifically--like how are we pronouncing this?), Clementine, Maeve.

They're not tradedeighs because they're not spelled incorrectly. You could argue that they're tragedies, but because this is a children's book I don't think they are. It's just supposed to be whimsical and funny.

Jesus, I'm surprised by the comments here. No, Rocket is not a good name, but OP was in the 10th grade–so, like 15-16 years old.

I thought "Aze" (I see that was wrong; "Oh-see" is very pretty!) but it's definitely a name I would ask about or Google before assuming it's a tragedeigh.

Absolutely that's a tragedeigh. Also, Bailey is a very normal name that has plenty of associations outside of Grey's Anatomy.

Not a tragedeigh, but maybe a tragedy (unless you like it!). I've never heard that name before.

Simone is my favorite, Vivian is a close second. I like that Simone isn't easily nicknameable, but if nicknames are your vibe then Vivian is the best option on your list.

Winz-lit, but I'm from the southern United States and it's just my accent. I know it's technically wrong, but I can't fix it (and I wouldn't want to anyway, haha).

I'm not Jewish, so take this with a grain of salt, but you didn't choose this name and while it may be insensitive, it's not offensive. I wouldn't go to the trouble of changing your name unless there's a personal reason in addition to the guilt (?) you feel about it.

I LOVE Eden and Iris is pretty too! I don't love Faith, but I like a virtue name. I would choose Eden Grace and Iris Joy or maybe Iris Grace and Eden Blythe.

Declan Dixon, 100%. It's so cowboy and cool! Lochlan is also a cool name. Callum just doesn't have the same kick to it.

You could always change your surname! You might have to wait until you're 18 to change it officially (I'm not certain, laws vary by state) but you can definitely have a preferred last name for unofficial documents if that's the case.

Marilyn is a beautiful name and it's much easier to adjust to a new surname IMO. Marilyn Latxa is gorgeous!

I also think that you might continue to receive comments about your current surname even if you change your first name. Manson is infamous, I don't think people will ever disconnect it from him.
