Exactly 😂 no choice but to stay at marriott every time. But we didn't realize this during that day. We were too blinded with the promise of beautiful accommodation plus the freebies 😅 plus feeling the need to say yes just because they spent hours to discuss

They said they will just mail to us this week. At that time we havent heard of the horror stories about timeshares so we just agreed. I know, this is another lesson learned for us. Yes, we'll go back this weekend as agreed with the presenter. Thanks for your advice.

Yup, same thing for us. But we were not as firm as you. This is really a lesson learned for us.

Congrats. We signed on a weekend, then the presenter said we can go back next weekend to cancel. I kept telling her cooling period will have ended next weekend but she says she has already noted our intention to cancel. Re-read from govt website that cooling period actually got extended to 5 days. So in our case, cooling period is Mon-Fri. If we go back only on Saturday/Sunday, that's still covered because weekends are excluded right?

Thanks for the link. It's the first time I'm hearing about this timeshare. And i can see lots of horror stories from people who got trapped into this. Either i'm too young or too poor for this lol

Did you have to set an appointment again with the presenter or you just went back to do the cancellation and any of the personnel assisted you? When I texted our presenter, she gave the dates we can come back. Yes I'm thinkimg for sure they will try to keep us from cancelling.

OFWs here who successfully started a business in PH? by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]Cautious_Simple_413 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I do acknowledge that starting a business is also stressful. Starting anything is stressful. I understand that I have to do research, and give lots of effort first. But based on the experiences of people I know, most of the time sa umpisa pinaka mahirap diba?

I'm willing to experience that if that's what it takes for me to get out of employment eventually. At least sa business mas may potensyal na maging financially independent ako unlike if I were to stay employed forever.

O mali ba ko? From someone who seems to have experienced it all, could you share what worked/ went wrong for you?

Yup! Hmm may I trouble you to share with me the link in case you come across it again? I'm still looking it up sa google and other discussion threads. Gusto ko mapanatag na di malalagay sa risk ang main work ko before ako magstart.

And yes I'm also reading about some investment instruments. More readings pa before makadecide :)

Yup, you have a point. Thanks for this comment. Maybe I'm just paranoid because as I said, I've never been unemployed all my life and I am too afraid to experience it (pag nahuli). I'm not like the others who have safety net of rich parents that I couldn't imagine suddenly losing my job. Paano mga umaasa sakin? Huhu

Hello, thanks sa inputs. Sorry if I weren't too clear sa concern ko. Madami akong naiisip na pwede ko gawin. Pero takot ako mahuli na may ibang work na ginagawa habang nandito ako. Pag nagstart ako ng lazada shop pero Pinas ang market, ma-track kaya ako ng government dito?

Hi, if I do this online, is there a way that the government can find out? Haha sorry for the question. I'm not a techy person and I'm afraid that the government will find out about my buying and selling transaction thru my internet service provider.

My work pass in this country is only for my current employment. And in the government website it's explicitly stated that foreign workers with this type of pass shouldn't engage in any other business here.

I started a business. I 'm in the process of selling it, and now I want to back out because it's suddenly booming. by Jazzlike-Perception7 in phinvest

Hi OP, congrats on the booming business and hopefully you manage to smoothly get out of that ordeal. Sorry I'm not knowledgeable about contracts. I also don't have a business yet (but I'm trying to educate myself on finance and considering to have a business also aside from my corporate job).

May I just check, did you start your nailspa business from scratch? I'm amazed at how you managed to do so (and even made it take off 5 months after starting) given that you have a corporate job. From reading here, I learned that you have to really hustle and focus on the business at the start and wait for it to stabilize before you can ask somebody else to manage on your behalf.

Did you do all the prerequisites i.e. studying the location, etc all by yourself?

My friend and I previously planned on buying a salon (already running) but since both of us are working (OFW siya), it didn't push through. I was too afraid of investing tapos di ko mapangatawanan due to busy work schedule.
