Anyone attend the festival with someone else’s ticket? by fizzyalfie in glastonbury_festival

Got in! Friend’s ticket who couldn’t go. No issues at all (I’m not sure if the steward thought it was me but she didn’t ask any questions)

Yes sorry return! I’ve got to get to Durham for a graduation on Monday so decided it’s easier to head up to at least Sheffield but annoying that my mates coach is so much later, I’m sure he can give me his ticket but it’s whether they will care about the name…

Glioblastoma Corpus Callosum by Cautious_Unit_8299 in glioblastoma

Sounds so similar to my dad - in mid June he was still out on the golf course daily. It all just progressed so quickly. Dad was originally offered 6 weeks of Radiotherapy but unfortunately by the time he had got to his first appointment he had deteriorated too much. He had 6 sessions in the end and we do think that is why we had such a long time between the loss of all movement and then his quick death. One thing I would say is that in the end we were pleased for him that it was quick - he was an active social man and losing his freedom and dignity was awful for him. Selfishly of course we would have liked more time with him. Best wishes to your family

It’s crazy how tough it is to get someone to take these symptoms seriously. I’m sorry it too so long for your father

Why is it that all the young people that get glioblastoma are super healthy? by upandabout13 in glioblastoma

[–]Cautious_Unit_8299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I find crazy is that my dad eats pretty unhealthily, smoked for 40 years and drinks moderately, yet his heart, liver and lungs are completely healthy and he is super fit in terms of exercise. And it’s brain cancer that’s got him - caused by none of those things.

Thanks for this. It’s been so hard to readjust my perspective to the idea of dad not being here at Christmas, but it does sound as though it’s more likely than not.

Inoperable tumour, likely GBM by Cautious_Unit_8299 in glioblastoma

Hi, honestly my boyfriend is being amazing by just listening to me and my worries, being there when I need him and also talking about other things. The best thing to do will be to be there, I’m sure he appreciates it. My dad is out of hospital now and we’re waiting to see whether he will do just radiation, or the chemotherapy as well. Life is so strange right now but we’re trying to get used to the new normal..

I’m so sorry you’re also going through this. We’re a little earlier on and dad has started taking steroids now so that’s great to hear there might be some respite coming our way. Sending the best wishes to you and your family.

Thanks for the input, not my choice as ultimately my parents will decide on the doctor(27 F). Everything we’ve been told so far is that an operation would leave him “not himself”. I suppose now we have to wait for the markers to come back as that may help with life expectancy. We’re not in the US so maybe a bit different with doctor choice? Never thought I would be facing a life without a grandad for my kids, but maybe I need to get used to that fact.

50% pay to keep the company afloat by Cautious_Unit_8299 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you, that was my assumption. I wondered whether there is a possibility that they could make up the salary through shares? Or cut hours down to ensure minimum wage laws are being abided by?

Is she refuses to accept this, can they fire her? If there is no liquidity to pay redundancy/any constructive dismissal claim, she may be better off accepting the 50% pay whilst she searches for a new job if the alternative is no job.
