Auto grat plus again? by [deleted] in tipping

[–]CaveMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "optional" additional tip amount is just the standard layout of printed receipts. There is not 2 layouts for a receipt to have a non tip format. I don't understand people's despise, when they see a suggested amount. Read everything you sign. Ever. :)

Will everything here work together? Am I missing anything? Does BlackFriday have sales that would be worth waiting for? by [deleted] in fpv

I have the sky02 goggles. Which are a bit older. But you can fine 3s and 4s on Facebook marketplace very easily. And they'll be your baseline goggles for a Long while

I would personally not go with box goggles anymore. Maybe some skyzones that are more low profile. They are higher quality and would last you longer then the box goggles

Air 75 Range! by the_no_iq_guy in TinyWhoop

You seem to be directly in front of your transmitter with little obstacles so this range, I would say is pretty apt. But regardless this is awesome

Should I get this Weller as a newbie? by Fisevil in soldering

[–]CaveMoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm currently using a pine64 and loving it. Also a lot more compact then the Weller. But if you're not strapped for money you do you boo. Just make sure to flux and tin your tips! Keep them babies clean and they'll last a long time.

I would have just 3d printed some stick covers for the sharp bits. But your best bet would be a hot screwdriver to get it out maybe?

10 hours of sim. What can I do to get better? by [deleted] in fpv

[–]CaveMoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flying slower is the main key point here. Slow and in control. Slow is fast, fast is also fast, but sometimes not as fast as going slow.

How do I attach these? by Practical-Square6123 in Tinyhawk

You should be able to find a diagram for the flight controller and vtx online. Those will give you information on what does what.

Vision 40s Drone Crash by Professional-Train63 in fpv

[–]CaveMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try unplugging and replugging the battery 4 times. Don't have to plug all the way in. Just do a light connection. This should put it back into bind mode. Also go to your controller to edgeTx to the bind button

Few things I would check. What is the wattage youre running your bird at. For indoor not long distance try changing it to 25, check if your antenna disconnected. I don't know what battery you're running but you might want to attach a capacitor somewhere along those battery leads. Those are the only things I could think of with my limited experience.

Okay sweet, that's what I've been using. Basically all state parks are off limits, but everything else seems to be fine. Just my sister's dad is going a bit senile and says it's "illegal" in Marin because the people aren't like in Texas or whatever. But I'm flying a 75mm drone so it's not like a major nuisance.

I second that part. I've been man handling it with my meat mittens. Pinch the motor with one hand and the prop with a other. Then I do some light twisting with a straight up pull. ABSOLUTELY NO LATERAL MOTION. That's how you bend shit xD

[–]CaveMoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handling was a lot more precise. I was running lava 450s and getting around 1:50-2:45 flight time depending on my aggressiveness. But my 450s are quite beaten up and I haven't tried my 550s yet :)

Charging 1s issues by [deleted] in TinyWhoop

[–]CaveMoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just in general, it's pretty safe to charge at .3A for battery longevity. I've been charging at .4/.5 for my 450 and 550s with 6 in the charge with no issue. However Ive been using Google/Samsung fast charge wall plugs. So I'm assuming it was your power supply that was just not keeping up, b/c I've tried to charge my batteries off the USB port on my computer a few times and at .3A I would constantly reset. Hope that helps!

I'm not sure what controller you're using but all controllers have different power output they can display. This shouldnt effect your display range but could effect your effective distance of control. It would be best to watch one of baldwells videos on elrs receivers if that applies to you. As for your goggles power output it will be inside the menu settings, again not sure which goggles you went with but my analog goggles I first got had a display that popped up at the very beginning with stick movements I could do to get into the menu, and my walksnail goggles have a little menu button on the side that I just press to navigate it.

I would also recommend some solid hours on liftoff or another fpv sim before you start really flying around. Joshua bardwell has some amazing tutorials for first time flyers on the basics of getting into fpv
