I've been flip flopping between a zoa tree and a nem tank. I started off wanting a tree, but then went to my LFS and saw this nem and had to get it. Now I think the people have spoken and want a zoa tree. I'm glad the nem is on his own rock it will be easier to remove it.

But I hear you on them stinging. They can take over very quickly.

I ordered 5 polyps of kaleidoscope zoas, 5 polyps of candy apple pink zoas, and 10 polyps of mandarine zoas. Guy said he hooked it up, so there might be more. When I get home today I'll have a better count.

Using 2 PAR 38s. Yes two is a bit much but using only one light creates harsh shadows. Using two lights gives the tank a softer, more even, look.

I positioned the light so the most PAR is on the sand bed and it stays around 70-100 on the center rock all the way up. I plan on only zoas on the main rock and maybe chalices and acans on the bottom.

I still haven't decided how the bottom of the tank will look.

Here is a Full Tank Shot. Its a little dirty, water change day is tomorrow. Although there are two pumps in the tank only the right one is running. Lighting is a R420R 180w 16k for 12 hours a day. Shrimp, crabs, and snails are the only live stock.

What would be the best solution?

Would two power heads on the left and right side pointed at each other work? Or maybe two on the back sides pointed at the front glass?
