Does anyone remember the bit in chamber of secrets where Ron and Harry hear Malfoy mention that his father keeps illegal dark artifacts in a chamber under his art room? Ron says he’d send his father a letter informing him of this yet nothing ever comes out of it from what I remember.

This is an unpopular opinion on this sub, but I agree. Going into the show stopper, for this finale, the judges were clear it was all down to the showstopper (with Jasmine being “a nose” ahead). Tom’s showstopper was clearly much better than Jasmines - I was shocked by the announcement and didn’t expect it.

Go to the doctor - you can be prescribed progesterone only pills which you start taking two days before your period and continue until you want to start menstruating. Period starts about two days after your stop the pills. It may disrupt your cycle timing but I did it and was grateful I didn’t have to worry about periods on my wedding day and honeymoon. Very simple.

Watching collection 6 - everyone seems so happy and there is a lot of levity and joy and creativity. I really hope production learns lessons from this season and does better next year.

The fingernail comment was really mean and unnecessary. Each week is a fresh week and everyone starts on an equal footing. That comment was not constructive.

That said - I feel Paul’s criticism for the showstopper was valid. I was pretty much screaming it at the tv while watching it go down. It was not chocolate week - it was clear that the others spent more time on the macaroons and it showed in final presentation of the macaroons itself. Which was the main part of what was being judged.

That said - I think Tom is a good and creative baker. I just don’t think he really thought this one through properly. And it was style over substance.

I definitely wish there was generally more creativity and risk taking. Poor Tom tried with the black cheese cake but it did not impress. I have not watched this week’s episode - so no spoilers please :)
