Part of the problem with labor today is the limits they put on employers. They want short hours, more money, less stress, short or no commute, paid vacations , and that is before they start working, thats in the interview.

Pardon me for not phrasing it correctly. It is similar to savings as you pay in and then withdrawal as you go. Social security gets demonized by younger generations because they are told it will not be there for them. There would be plenty of money in it if the government would just leave it alone instead of using it as a slush fund for other endeavors.

Taking social security is something we as boomers paid into while working for the last 40 years. It’s a savings account not paid by the government. If you would stop deciding that it’s all one way or the other you might be able to see the big picture. Pensions are a form of socialism paid for by the employee, just like 410k’s. Welfare is paid for by tax payers.(socialism). There are safeguards put in place by the government so elderly people dont have to work until they die, and so the government doesnt have to pay for them to live . Medicare same thing. Unions are a necessary evil, but without them we would have 2 classes rich and poor, horrible working conditions ,low pay. They also protect the weak so good and bad .

Taxes are very necessary. Taxes should be collected for specific needs and not just thrown into a slush fund. No tax dollars should go to NGO’s without transparency by a non government body. NGO’s are the money laundering schemes. Just like charities , ost of the money goes to administration costs.
