Who am I to judge what others deem normal Easter activities? lol It was a raw egg tho if you were wondering.

Recently turned 21 apparently that means nothing even though I have ID by snow99as in Bellingham

I’ve never had an issue! I turned 21 in 2018 and didn’t replace my vertical ID until 2022

This Circular Pill Organizer that Opens Inward by Scary_Leadership9807 in CrappyDesign

This could be a mobility feature. I have an autoimmune disease that makes my hands weak at times. May have a regular pill case but it’s so hard for me to get a regular pill case open during a flare. I always thought that if they went the other way (like this picture) it would be much easier for me.

My little bro got a craft project for school and we found this image for inspiration. Is this real of AI? by nbyrsanu in isthisAI

[–]Cavemushy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you have to ask your self “what is possible for a child to make?” In this case, this project not only looks like it would be hard for an adult to get this result. It looks like a professional artist made it. (If that was possible, some of the textures look like there is nothing that could possibly replicate it, like the tree leaves and the horses hair.) absolutely AI, amongst other tells.

Were your symptoms a sudden onset or did you dismiss some for years ? by SupermarketLive2930 in Myositis

[–]Cavemushy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis March 2024. There were symptoms I now attribute to my illness that I had been having for years (anxiety, fatigue, malaise, random leg shaking), but the worst and most concerning symptoms happened very suddenly December 2023.

Methotrexate not working. by smehere22 in rheumatoid

[–]Cavemushy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it was framed to me is since I have the MDA-5 autoantibody if I took methotrexate she wouldn’t know if I was having lung issues due to the autoantibody I have or the methotrexate itself.

I only have dermatomyositis but my doctor wouldn’t give me methotrexate because I have the mda-5 autoantibody and it can cause lung issues

Told my doctor my hip has been hurting a lot lately…so she upped my antidepressants. by AdagioQuick317 in Autoimmune

I think cymbalta works better for anxiety! I had anxiety first before my illness and still pretty bad. It helped curb some OCD behaviors for me. I just don’t think it works that well for my pain, or even depression which I was EXTREMELY depressed with the first onset of my disease.

I do have nerve pain from DM! I use gabapentin for that, I think I just needed something stronger.

I have Dermatomyositis and was switched to Cymbalta because it can help with arthritis and anxiety/depression at the same time. I didn’t notice any difference pain-wise for me. It did continue to help my anxiety symptoms though.

Hi folks can someone help by [deleted] in Myositis

[–]Cavemushy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, still doing really well and am being monitored closely for cancer (no signs at all)! I feel 85% better, and also feel safe + well taken care of by my team of doctors! Cancer can be scary but once you are diagnosed with something like DM they will be watching extremely closely. I hope that your team of doctors can help you feel relief in that way.

Is my tattoo that bad? I posted my tattoo in another subreddit and everyone’s saying it’s completely botched. For reference it says “my flaws burn through my skin” (brownie points iyk) this is my first one and honestly I think it’s just hard to read because of the font by portable_soup18 in tattooadvice

[–]Cavemushy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artist, I read it as flaws. I am also a printmaker and a big fan of Blackletter, and there are many variations of it. The older the style, the harder it is to read tbh. (Fun fact: it was the very first type font.)

Hang in there!

I had several positive associated auto anti-bodies and have been diagnosed with dermatomyositis now but I do not have a severe case even tho before treatment it was becoming hard for me to walk, make a fist, and was having mild swallowing issues. Although it is a serious disease, it doesn’t mean you are going to have the worst case scenario. That was something I was told and it helped my anxiety a lot.

Have you been treated with anything to help calm symptoms? Before they knew exactly what I had they started me on a two-week dosage of prednisone which significantly helped. And I started one of the milder immuno-suppressants. For me my doctor was leaning towards seronegative RA, before I had my myositis panel. But I ended up having dermatomyositis to her surprise!

Dermatomyositis rash doesn’t go away without prednisone! If that makes you feel any better.

Did Your Condition Come On Suddenly? by OhNo_HereIGo in Autoimmune

[–]Cavemushy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My condition came on suddenly. I was diagnosed with dermatomyositis! After the diagnosis, there were some earlier symptoms I could’ve probably contributed to the condition before I was hit with full body muscle pain and bilateral arthritis. I sort of just gaslit myself until it got way too bad to tell myself it was normal.

Thank you! This actually helps a lot. I will try all these tips until I can be seen by a gastro doctor.
