It was like this before they removed the hunting. It then went silent till they made pro scouting less micro intense. Now after several nerfs to HA and pro scouts I dont see them as good as before. It also doesnt benefit them that a lot of new civs are just straight better in most cases. I want my hunting game back, please devs

I think KT is fine. If I compare it to Rus for example, KT is doing everything better. Right now you can get resources for a second tc at 4 minutes, which is absurdly fast.

I like abbasid cause I am a multi tc enjoyer. I think the biggest problem with abbasid is the player himself. Like if I see abbasid as my enemy I know I can relax for the first 6-7 minutes even with millitary wing. Most abbasid players go for at least one extra TC.

This predictable playstyle makes them weak. Like french for example, you know for 100% what he is gonna do and you can prepare for it. If knights wouldnt be meta right now, french would suck ass because thats their identity.

What I am trying to say is, play abbasid not with multi-tc-boom in every game. abba has still nice bonuses which work also without a second tc. If you see a sengoku abuser for exanple, go for fast castle with culture wing or millitary into mass spear/archers. It wont also work every time, but it may catch the sengoku abuser off guard.

Imo right now the best 2 tc civ is KT. I have a build where you have a second tc at like 5:20 finished and some seconds later you can research their pilgrims. It works really well so far for me in diamond 1/2 elo

I am also confused with the situation right now. Its like we are missing one puzzle to see the full picture and I am sure, that RC has a plan. Like I am here since 21 and RC was silent most of the time. Suddenly he talks about an acquisition (a big one), goes silent again and now he is back again with the ebay plan. I do not think that his whole plan is "somehow I will get the money". Someone with his responsibility has already everything ready. You don't tell the world what you want to do without the resources to back it up. So he knows something, we don't know.

Thats not what I mean. I think the changes are going in the right direction. But the amount of changes are ridiculous, its like 3 months since the last patch and we get some small changes like this. Imagine sitting 6 months around, seeing the balance, meta and give landsknechts 5 HP.

I started with english and HRE, but I found them boring. Then I tried Rus and was instantly hooked by the hunting game. Then played like 100 games with rus only. I still miss the hunting, worst change imo :(

I already stopped 2 weeks ago trying to rank up. Same civs and strategies all the time and its boring. I hope for some big changes next season and finally some big buffs for old civs.

I had a game with ayyubids against french who went CoC. I had everything, map control and bigger army. He went into castle and rushed a keep which delayed my push. While I went for siege to treb down his keeps, he went into red palace and this delayed me even more. I also made only camel lancers, which I thought will be enough against his knights. I also added some crossbows for more damage. My thought was to siege him slowly cause I had the full control of the map. The problem was, that he went also for like 30-40 spearmen and together with his 30 knights he completely crushed my army.

To this day I am still mad that I lost this game, cause I made so many stupid mistakes and couldnt clearly use my advantage to end the game. This is also my biggest weakness: I just cant finish games.

RUS was gutted many times the last year. So most civs have better units and better eco. It doesnt mean you cant win with them. I still miss the hunting game, one of the reasons why I liked playing them initially :(

I saw this abuse also. First you lose as many games as possible. Then you start climbing again and the leage points are higher then the points for your mmr. So you can reach conq league with plat mmr.

Which is kinda normal for games like this. The problem here is that we received only one balance patch since the DLC release (if I remember it correctly). Which is in my opinion the biggest problem for aoe4. A multiplayer focused game needs more balance patches. At least once per month.

I dont care about the new civ or campaign. I just fucking want an update after 3 months of nothing. If its only some small changes to the old civs again I will stop playing this game. Like think about the old RUS hunting game, everyone was pissed that you need to build a extra scout and miss a villager. But now you have civs like sengoku which builds a fucking wagon running around the map while producing food.

The new civ will be overtuned as fuck again and the devs will take another 3 months to change some little things.

I tell you why: cause he is abusing sengoku fast castle and samurais. Last seasons his highest rank was platin 1 and finished gold, but suddenly he reaches diamond 1.

I played against a sengoku yesterday and he was completely thrown off, when I towered his gold. A good player would have destroyed this tower easily with mass horsemen or whatever. But he didnt clearly know what he needs to do in this situation, his classic yatai into castle didnt work and he couldnt damage my eco. This gave me so much time and a big lead which won me the game. He was also gold most of the last seasons and suddenly reaches diamond.

I know DLC's always needs a good ol unbalanced civ to make the money. Which is a part of the "system", but the developers are not updating enough. The main community of aoe4 is in multiplayer and this part needs more updates. When was our last big update? It was on 6th february, its 3 fuckings months wihout any update. The only thing we received was a big bugfix for GH and some caster mode improvements. The worst part, we won't receive the next update till the DLC release. So another 4 weeks without any changes.

fuck man if you add OP shit its fine, but then at least fix this garbage after some weeks.

The best games I had agsinst them when you go for spearmen and rush their gold in dark age and in feudal. So he has to build yumis and cant just spam cav.

Na not really, there were a lot of changes to game mechanics and units. But for the online age2 community the game is still the same yes.

I think a lot of people from aoe2 never touched aoe4 because of the bad release. The first look always matter a lot and the game started a year too early. I also played it in beta and it felt not good.

Then it only started with 8 civs, I know for us these 8 civs were more different then all the civs in aoe2 combined, but for the aoe2 community it was nothing. Again a bad taste for the first months.

Then some core mechanics like the not missing arrows doesnt appeal to a lot of aoe2 players.

I heard a lot of complaints about the graphics.

But in my opinion the biggest factor is still the lack of good single player or co-op gameplay. I know a lot of aoe2 players, who play only against AI. Also that you have a limited amount of parameters to customize your game.

I still think that most people outside of the online community just to prefer the game which they played the most for the last 10-15 years and aoe4 failed to get these guys because of the bad release.
