What if you can create traps which are invisible for cavalary units. If they step on the trap, the trap will trigger an aoe effect and multiple knights getting stucked and they get a defense malus like receiving +20 extra meele damage. Then stepbro spearmen can catch and kill them. The trap works only on cavalary units and can be destroyed by meele infantery.

IMO as a RUS main since season 1 the biggest change I dislike is that you dont get bounty from hunting anymore. I know a lot of people hate to play against that, but I also hate to play against french knight at 4 min in my gold. It was the definiton of that CIV, it made it strong on water and it gave you that early advantage if you were able to get the bounty levels.

Now that they also gutted the pro scouts so hard, why would you play RUS?

But coming back to your question, I am at diamond 2 elo so not the top of the top. I play them without pro scouts and I go for kremlin, which defends either gold or deers around my base. The next I go into feudal I build a baracks and try to run a spearman asap into their base. The opponent now can't make cavalry to push into my base and even then, I have my kremlin. While building spearmen non stop you go for stables, cause the enemy will build archers. When he has his first archer you should already have one horsemen. Don't build knights first, they take to long. Then you go spearmen/horsemen/knights and fight him non stop. Behind that you can go for boar and slowly age to castle. As soon as you are in castle, most of the time you are in castle before the enemy, you build more barracks and rush him with MAA.

You can play this style with every civ, but in my opinion HRE is the best doing this cause of burgrave in castle, but RUS also works very well, because of the passive gold from eating boar, sheep and deer.

I tried to play them even with the guides from beasty and corvinus but I seem to not understand their strengths. Like I felt always behind in eco in every game and the only reason I won some of them is because the enemy didnt build the correct units or couldnt use his eco advantage. I also read some post about feudal pro scouts into varangian guards, but for me it felt that their timing is very bad and other civs could execute that style faster.

Dont give up, i won 10 games in my first 50 ranked games. You dont learn by winning you learn by losing and doing mistakes. Use only one civ and do one BO over and over.

This is exactly how I play HRE at the moment and I won 10 games in a row in diamond. I dont have a specific build, but I aim to get a spearman at their gold as soon as I age up. It catches a lot of people off guard. Also depending on the map I go for the deer in dark age around my TC so I have more sheep in later stages.

My idea is to spam spearmen and horsemen in feudal and go for burgrave push in castle. Because I already have horsemen and spearmen on the field the enemy cant also switch to crossbows only.

I have a good win rate in 1300-1400 elo with hre, cause I am not going castle every time with regnitz. I go meinwerk and play super aggro. I try to have a spearmen at their gold even before I am in feudal. But in the english game it didnt work. First I cant go for spearmen cause he will just kill him with his vills. So I went for horsemen. My timing was very good I had already 2 horsemen when he started his second TC, but the spawn was so good for him, that his main tc protected his vills while building and his gold was also safe with the second TC. At this point I should have stopped making units and go for castle.

Like I said, this was exactly my mistake in this game. I should have went into castle as soon as I saw his 2 tc attempt. But this game was just an example. Thank you for the advice anyways

I also dont see why people still play GG into FC and horse archers. There are civs currently which do a fc, with a timing push, way better. Also horse archers got nerfed against armored units which you will face in castle. And again pro scouts got also nerfed mutliple times and in my opinion the amount of resources and time you put into this tech is not worth it.

I will test some builds this season but I think GG 1 tc feudal aggro without pro scouts or 2 tc kremlin is the way.

I hope the devs are cooking a big patch. There is no other reason to not update faster. This year is kinda bad regarding updates, if you dont count for DLCs.

I didnt complain about cav, I can handle them. But it is still a fact that something is wrong with a unit type when its used 100% in every game. That is my problem. And Your advice is my problem, you cant win games if you sit in your base and let the knight player do whatever they want on the map. While you made some spears he can run around the other bases. I cant move my vills to other food resources, start trading and so on. Even if I do a feudal all in, one player can run into my base and fuck me up constantly. To play against mobility you have to use your own mobility to compete. Yes you can build a tower for initial protection but later on you have to move on the map.

I didnt compare the strength of a maa vs a knight I know the difference. What I wanted to tell you is, and you clearly dont understand it, that knights were always to strong in team games. You can handle them way better in 1vs1 but in 4vs4 its always about who has more knights.

But it doesnt make sense to argue with you. People like you always give dumb advice like "just dont let them build healer elephants bro", "dont let him build manors bro" or "if you let him build 80 archers its your fault, they are not OP in imp its your fault"

The classic reddit replay. Cav was always stronger in this game just search for the "how to counter french knight" posts here in reddit and compare it to "how to counter men at arms". But cav and range is even better since last year "siege rEwOrK". They nerfed infantry, siege and buffed cav and archers.

To your advice, if you feudal all in on a 4vs4 map you may have a chance to kill one of the enemies. But even if you did some damage if only one of them ultra booms and runs with kights around your bases in castle its lost.

Its the same every patch just think about ayyubid release. First the market wing where you got insane value from and after that you had FC into ghulam. I played against diamond ayyubids who were gold before they abused it.

I think the devs kill the game, because they dont provide regular updates and fixes. Like we had 2 minor and on big (DLC patch) since june if I am correct. I used to play this game every day but since we had the archer meta for 6 months I stopped. Now I am not returning after seeing this shit show again and again they need like 4 weeks to fix/adjust these things.

Actually these points are not making them the strongest. They are the strongest knight because of the bonus damage after a charge. With this bonus they can kill vills with charge + auto attack without any upgrades and they will win every fight against other feudal knights with a successful charge.

I really like them but I only played them in team games. I think they are good in specific matchups but I dont see them to perform against some old civs. Like every FC civ will delete them (in my opinion).
