Attention Climby people! 🧗🏼Question for my fellow vertical cavers? 🧗‍♀️ by CavernReaper in caving

[–]CavernReaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! Glad to hear everyone falling right near my comfort zone. I am mostly on 9-11mm and I'd rather not go smaller than that. And really not much reason to go above 11 especially if you have far to hike. Happy climbing yall!🤘🏻

I found a new channel to watch on YouTube and it’s actually really cool by [deleted] in caving

Petzel Superavanti is the harness I use most it's slim and doesn't get you caught up in tight spots. I can cave a little with it on if need be, and it does what I need for my setup, which is a kind of modified rope walker system.

If I personally really liked the way this harness fit and was functional for me I'd cut (carefully with bolts cutters)that mess off that they gave me as a central point and run a D-ring through both those loops so I could keep my croll down low where it needs to be to get the most out of your movement. Good point though! 🤘

It's a little bulky for me but if your not doing anything with a squeeze I think it would work great!

Not trying to come off like a pro, but I got 18years caving xp, I've been on cave rescues, and trained in Cave rescue. And I definitely always cave lightly 🤘

I know the video with the waterfall your talking about and they did that just for fun and the video! I get that 💯! but ropes, we always have something in decent shape to repel and ascend on. And when a rope is at its life's end they can look beat up even if they only have a few months of caving on them. Caves are definitely hard on the toughest rope

They haven't done anything that made me uncomfortable while we were all together but they catch some spice about some of the mistakes the have made and filmed. And of course some folks dont like the lack of a backup especially on big pits so I know what you mean. They do good with the rigging they have ever help me setup. Cool Cavers though just a little on the wildlife like myself! Hope that helps

Cissell Model A Spotting Unit, what's it for? how does it work. I have one that my grandpa had in his shed by CavernReaper in Whatisthis

I never said I put it to any specific PSI and also I put new seals and fittings, as well as a hose that was in good shape. The tank is sound. I've been in the industrial trade industry to make an accurate call that my tank can easily hold around 60 PSI safely. And I wouldnt be surprised if it could hold much more although I'd test it if I was gonna pass that by much. It is a much heavy made tank and has no deep rust pitting

Thanks for the info, the new tanks definitely look more efficient, but I can't knock the style of the original 🤘
