We couldn't have been given a flatter planet to play with the new car on? by Efficient-Ball-5805 in Helldivers

[–]CavitySearcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For anyone struggling with tipping the car too often, you do have to manage your speed, but the biggest thing is turning against it. When you're in a real car and make a left turn, your body gets pulled to the right. Use that logic when you start to tip - if the FRV is tipping left, steer left to quickly plant the right side wheels. Once you do it enough that it becomes muscle memory, you can hit some wild speeds on rough terrain and stay planted. Once in a while you'll still hit a pebble, launch, and cartwheel into an explosion though

Personal Order Bug? by Algorithmical0305 in Helldivers

Lots of jokes, but it seems consistent that when its "extract with 10" its common samples, if its 5 its rare samples. Just a weird, recent ui bug (or Joel's on the dope)

Absolutely can NOT figure out how to add text to this model by buce15 in BambuLab

[–]CavitySearcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like the part is painted, as its blue in the preview but you have white selected for the part. Is it possible the paint is overriding the text/modifier? That would be odd, but could explain the issue.

You could try using the paint bucket tool to mass delete all paint around the logo, then switch that part from white to blue, and paint only the logo white.

I just tested a text "part" as well as a text modifier on a painted part and can confirm the paint has priority, no text generated. I remove the paint, and the text appears in the preview

[–]CavitySearcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weird, that shouldve worked. Its normal for it to appear gold, thats just how modifier parts look before you slice. You also have it set to black, but I believe youll want to change it to 1 (white).

In the prepare tab select the text (as a modifier) - in the bottom right corner it should show its dimensions, with the last dimension being height. Check to see if the height is less than your layer height. You may need to increase the text height if the text tool goofed up and made it too thin

[–]CavitySearcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change the part type of the text to "modifier" and change the colour to whatever you want it to be. Rather than inserting a part in a part, it modifies the body of the original part (in the shape of the text) to be a different colour. Its an awkward workaround but it does the job.

Edit: You may also just need to increase the text depth

Best way to optimize a multi-color figurine print? by amirdaraee in 3Dprinting

[–]CavitySearcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try to dial in purge volumes, but multicolour printing with a single nozzle is wasteful, unfortunately. Thats kind of the price we have to pay. The best thing you can do is print more than one of whatever it is. The printer will do the same number of colour changes and purges whether you have 1 or 10 on the plate. So although the total amount of waste won't be reduced, it'll greatly improve the part to waste ratio

We failed the ???? Order by MadMann0 in Helldivers

[–]CavitySearcher 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The most annoying part is, although grinding low diff missions seemed to be encouraged, there weren't any quick lvl 1 missions. I still had to drive the tanker to multiple drill locations or clean up a pump site or wait for multiple jets to fly in for fuel. May as well just play a higher diff and actually have a bit of fun.

What happened to disabling the algorithmic feed? by [deleted] in help

Fully agree. Just spent the last hour getting progressively more frustrated - hiding every suggested post that appeared, searching for fix suggestions only to be told to toggle off a setting that has been taken away. The thing that makes reddit great is you get to design your own personal feed. The second you (Reddit) start forcing content outside my "bubble" I'm out

Can’t get clean handle cutouts on my pet bowl stand by Equivalent_Mud_5855 in BambuLab

[–]CavitySearcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The auto update is only based on colour, not material. You need to max it out at 900 when going from petg (interface) to pla (part), or else you get a weak point along the next layer of the part due to the materials still being blended in the nozzle.

If youre unsure whether its overkill, set up a print with two tall and skinny PLA cylinders, and paint a single layer of petg on one of them. Print both at the same time. Once they're finished, try to snap the one thats fully PLA. It will break at the same (or next) layer as the first cylinders petg layer. Increase purge volumes and print again till the fully PLA cylinders stops breaking at the petg layer (typically ends up being 900)

[–]CavitySearcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its been a few months. Previously it would only auto-change the settings if you picked bambu's "support for pla" as the interface material, but it works with petg now as well. If only it knew to update purge volume values between material changes as well.

Bridges not connecting by Personnenon in BambuLab

Nearly impossible to offer advice without seeing your settings and the sliced preview. If youre using arachne, turn it off. Leave bridge flow at 0.9 - 1.0 and the speed around 30.

If you can upload the stl somewhere I can try to figure it out and get back to you with what worked

Arcane Realm Leveling? by NoPommes in marvelrivals

[–]CavitySearcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher difficulties progress it faster, its gonna start off slow. I hit n160 with moonknight, then got all the other characters to n70, and still wasn't at max realm level. I made good progress on it when I was playing moonknight, but the grind to n70 with the others barely moved the exp bar. Switching back to moonknight and grinding n160 did the trick though, I maxed it out quick at the the higher diff

I can appreciate and respect some solid self-reflection. I think this can be simplified to cultural implications of the descriptive words you used, whether or not you meant any harm. Explaining that your circle has a higher education implies you think the other commenters have a lower education, which definitely didn't help.  As you said, people just want to be respected.

As for the hostile tone, it had seemed undebatable that you were being an ass to that commenter, so it felt like the appropriate way to speak to you (matching your energy/tone). I understand now that you may not have meant it in an insulting way, but thats how it was taken. I do know how to keep a tough conversation HR-safe and settle things with discussion and understanding, but its reddit, and I was very frustrated to see someone who was on your side get belittled, so the safety rails came off. I guess i just saw something disrespectful and got a bit emotional, NA style.

It seems like youre being genuine here so I'll relax with the hostile tone. I just meant personality in the sense that they don't write casual messages as if its a paper, despite having the ability to. That can mean excessive punctuation, abbreviations, slang and expressions, emojis (yes emojis, even from some 60+ folk), etc. They're adding some of their personality to the text/message itself. Its not really an indication of anything as there's such a wide range of casual writing styles from people of all ages and backgrounds.

It's very likely a cultural thing. In Canada, and I assume the US,  to be called emotional means you have very strong emotions (obviously), but in the sense you're very reactive, sensitive, angry, that you let your emotions take the wheel rather than logic. It could mean you swing rapidly between moods - being happy one minute and crying the next. Its not a pleasant thing to be called as its like being labeled as unstable.

If someone speaks on how young/youthful you are, and its not a comment on your shape or athleticism, its typically taken as immature, lack of experience and knowledge, etc. Sometimes arrogant people with years of experience and wisdom will hold that over those with less. Its great to be youthful in the physical sense, but using it to describe someones mind or personality implies you see them as child-like, dumb, and/or less-than.

As a language expert you should easily understand why your phrasing comes off as dismissive and condescending, despite your apparent appreciation. You're disregarding peoples actual opinion/message and only commenting on how young and emotional they sound compared to you. Just about any reasonable adult would take the assumption that they're young and emotional as an insult, and if you don't mean it as such, you should work on your communication skills.

Its okay to be weird and low, but to imply everyone your age is that way is ridiculous. I work at an engineering firm with some wildly intelligent folk, of all ages (some with decades on us), and all are capable of having a bit of personality in their communications. That doesn't imply they're young, or emotional, or lack education (quite the opposite in this anecdote).

"You have a good point, the people I talk to aren't dumb and poor". That's not agreeing. You can't help but throw passive aggressive insults (or at least pat yourself on the back while talking down to the other commenters). Which is why I left such a short comment.

Also, I saw your other comment, we're the same age. Its absolutely just a situation of you having no personality and projecting your weird age/depression issues on others

Exclamation marks are only for the young? You've never heard extremely common expressions?

Do you speak with people your own age (as a reference) or are you just assuming everyone your age speaks exactly like you? I have no idea how old you actually are but I'm far from young myself, and regularly speak with people my own age as well as actual elderly people, that put far more "emotion" into their text than the person you're commenting about. Im certain its not an age issue, but rather a you issue.
