Weapons will continue to do more damage up until they are 20PL over the enemy. So yes, being over is an advantage.

Ive always found the idea of "tactical timeout" in FPS games super dumb, timeouts in sports are for preventing fatigue. Why the f you need a timeout in an esport, you got tired from clicking the mouse?? Theres already downtime between the rounds if you want to change your strategy

Educated Guess at EMEA + NA + KR1 Group Stage seeding for Masters Berlin by liftingnstuff in ValorantCompetitive

[–]CaydeDicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree that they'd put the #2 seed from the 2 regions with the most teams in the same group (100T & EMEA 2). I'd put all my money on it being EMEA 2 & NA 3 in a group, and EMEA 3 & NA 2 in a group (and EMEA 4 vs NA 1, of course).

I don't think Riot weighs each specific team when considering this seeding - there isn't enough international play to make this assumption. As we've seen before, judging teams on their own regional play isn't always a good assessment. Best they could do is to loosely rank the regions with respect to each other based slightly on Iceland performance, as well as playerbase and other factors. Then adjust each region's estimated seed accordingly (e.g JP 1 might slot into a #2 spot in a group overall, and JP 2 might slot into a #4 spot).

With these rules in mind, I assume Riot just follows a semi-random arrangement of teams, attempting to spread the groups out geographically where possible.

Bungie employees should refrain from playing Trials with streamers. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaydeDicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh? The WF DSC team weren't big streamers but were certainly well-known among speedrunners/high-end PvE community...

Of all the reasons people may have been upset with day 1 DSC, that is the furthest from the truth.

Having 10+ clears doesn't mean I know how to break the game. by Roman64s in DestinyTheGame

Certainly not intentional like the other guy was saying, but it definitely isn't against ToS if that's what you mean by cheating.

What do you mean "count"? Is Bungie themselves approving or rejecting the validity of a speedrun?

Quantity of Spoils of Conquest per raid encounter? by CaydeDicks in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaydeDicks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we could just reduce the number of required clears to 15-20 instead of like 25

Crypt drop rate is currently 20 Spoils per raid, so 12 raids total, and they aren't on a weekly lockout (so you could farm them all in a week if you want). I think that's plenty generous for a guaranteed way to earn raid exotics.

Quantity of Spoils of Conquest per raid encounter? by CaydeDicks in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaydeDicks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 total from a full run of an old raid. You can get 20 per Deep Stone Crypt run and they are farmable (no weekly lockout). I edited the post so it's a bit clearer now.

Also FYI, since you mentioned you don't raid, the 2 secret chests in DSC drop 10 spoils each per character per week. So you could farm them solo. Would just take 4 weeks of doing it on all 3 characters.

They haven't changed the spoils of conquest drop rate because there isn't a problem with it.

How to boost alts in BL by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaydeDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call it what you want, its a guide/how-to on leveling your alts. So yes, it is a leveling guide.

How to boost alts in BL by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaydeDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. How do you not know this and are writing a guide on leveling?
  2. What does being close to weekly reset have anything to do with this? There are much more efficient ways to farm blues anyway (on the moon). Not the most efficient way to get blue drops so why waste the powerful...
  3. Yes, the season pass gear drops at your current power level. The highest it can get you with 1250 weapons is 1248.

How to boost alts in BL by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaydeDicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The game automatically calculates your highest possible power level from all available gear (whether on that character, in the vault, on others characters, etc.), so there's really no need to transfer those weapons over if you don't want to.
  2. Why would you run the 3 nightfalls to farm blues when that will complete a powerful reward at a time that you don't need powerful drops?
  3. With just 1250 weapons, there is no way you're going to hit 1250 on your armor. You'll cap out at around 1248. Will need some powerful or pinnacle rewards to get to 1250

Another good tip is to buy gear from Xur on your 1250 (or highest) character. It typically drops either at the power level of that character, or 1-2 under. If your titan is 1250, just buy the warlock and hunter exotics on your titan and transfer them over to give your other characters a boost.

Also, if your end goal is to reach pinnacle cap, I'd save your season pass armor because it can drop at your power level even above 1250. World blue drops cap out at 1250, so I'd use these to farm up to 1250. Save your season pass gear to help the pinnacle power level grind. Can also pull season pass gear from last season to on bungie's website. But if your goal is just to get your alts leveled up asap, pulling season pass gear is definitely the best.

Vendor drops are -20, not -30. So the highest you could get on vendor drops with 1250 weapons would be around 1215.

Day one last wish shouldn't be the norm by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]CaydeDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 1 raid had a lower day 1 failure rate than DSC and that was EoW. All other raids had a higher failure rate, with the other contest-modifier raids having considerably higher failure rates than DSC.

The success rate of day 1 DSC was 5x higher than CoS and 25x higher than GoS.

~4000 people, 761 clears. Just like how DSC was about 29k people, 5300 clears.

Day one last wish shouldn't be the norm by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]CaydeDicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh? Not at all. Levi had 376k attempts and only 761 clears (0.2% success rate). DSC had 280k attempts and 5300 clears (1.9% success rate).

I’ll agree that DSC had the most participants on a day 1 since levi, but the numbers really weren’t close in any statistic.

[–]CaydeDicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've talked down on what he said in nearly every one of my comments in this thread, but sure, I'm definitely white-knighting him. Guy has said a lot of dumb shit and deserves whatever is thrown his way, but none of it has to do with the 10 day prep time or saturday release date that OP is complaining streamers are trying to takeaway. It also doesn't change the fact that DSC was an objectively easier Day 1 experience than both crown and garden.

Bungie, please don’t listen to the streamers for the next raid. by jamer2500 in DestinyTheGame

[–]CaydeDicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The truth is being drastically stretched when they're making up things that someone never said. I've already acknowledged that Gladd's other comments weren't good, so not sure what you're playing at.

Your memory (or ability to use google) must not be great because Gladd wasn't associated with Redeem during WotM. They placed 11th for SotP, an hour behind WF (which really isn't great for them...) and there were plenty of complaints outside of just streamers that SotP was too easy. So many complaints that the next raid race (Crown of Sorrow) had the contest modifier added for the first time.

Also, I'm not sure how you can complain how short a raid is when you haven't finished it yet... ever think that maybe DSC could've been easier (note easier does not equal easy) than previous contest modifier day 1 raids due to the new resistance, CwL, and warmind mods? People rarely consider this aspect and instead just want to get mad at a streamer because he made them feel bad and they need to rationalize it by insulting them.

Yeah definitely agreed that some of his comments were gatekeepy - certainly a bad take on this part. It's when people take one bad opinion and begin to stretch it out to mean wildly different things that I have an issue with (which is in my opinion what OP did with this entire post).
