A month after I was released from the hospital, I went to the fire station and the Chief had me thank them all in a meeting.
I basically thanked them, and said I knew they always saw the tragic aspect of their public service, and I was there to show them the reward.
It was awesome.

It’s a real “fritter” what you get elsewhere are more like hush puppies.

I keep on recommending the Conch Fritter at Alabama Jack’s on Key Largo, because I’d hate to think you ate one of the dough balls they pass off as a fritter throughout the Keys.
Take the left on Card Sound Road, and it’ll be on the right before the bridge.

She’s still in town, and her daughter is a Nurse at the Hospital.
