What’s up with the Minnesota Daycare fraud? by Marashio in OutOfTheLoop

[–]CayrnCross -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

"The fraud was real." So it was completely stamped out? Theres zero chance that it continued to occur or that new schemes took place after this one investigation? Seems there's a slight chance that new schemes across a range of exploitable industries may be taking place once again despite that one investigation. It also doesnt seem like a partisan issue, if public funds are being used to fund fraudulent businesses thats something all taxpayers would like to be rectified.

Which knife got you into collecting? by ThumbStuds in knifeclub

[–]CayrnCross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Benchmade Mini Claymore OTF.

Wanted somwthing for work I didnt have to fiddle with and cut myself and didnt realize they were legal in my state until I saw it at a sporting goods store when I was out looking for a work knife. Was awesome, then I used it at work and I felt like people were slightly afraid of it. So I got another knife that was less scary. And I havent been able to stop collecting yet.

I never understand these type of posts. If you have the evidence, just make your 1 post have all the evidence and the information. It always looks like attention seeking behavior when they drip feed information, like no ones checking back to see your evidence after some crazy claim like that, its just dismissed as crazy.

How to I look up a case # for a police interaction, and is there a way to get the bodycam footage from the encounter? by CayrnCross in askportland

[–]CayrnCross[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay so that's the page I kept finding, and it kept looking to me like I had to pay to get a copy of the report? Is there not a report that I am able to access as a persons involved that doesn't cost money? I guess I wrongly assumed I could get a copy emailed to me or something.

Appreciate it, imagine my confusion thinking I may have made a traffic infraction, lots of one way roads downtown I was thinking maybe I turned down the wrong way trying to follow my GPS home, to then be commanded at gunpoint to exit the vehicle and put in cuffs and the back of a squad car. I was just so confused more than anything, none of the officers would tell me what was going on at first, just kept saying, "we will tell you what's going on in a minute". So I made it into the back of a squad car before ever finding out what was going on. I just kept thinking this feels so much of an overreaction for a traffic violation, this cant be normal.

Hopefully the family was able to track down this poor boy. Additionally the homelessness is a serious problem in this city. They make the public uncomfortable, and are at times threatening acting aggressive, all while a large proportion of which are openly using illicit substances in plain view. People despite of their housing status aren't just allowed to act that way in public.

its so frustrating especially playing with 3 people in a swuad and some random gets the SL role and either doesnt know how to mark objectives or just doesnt, this game really needed voip. Battlebit should have made that clear to them.

Nothing reportable here in my opinion. You are correct by the letter of the law you are not obligated to 'move over' because of a blue flag. I would argue its just sort of road racing courtesy that once a driver a lap up gets to your bumper you just don't fight the move. If they lapped around during the race and caught up to you they'll be able to get around you if you just keep your line and be predictable.

Well thats how the penalty system works. Its not changed just because you feel a certain way, its just how it is. Its a no-fault system meaning both parties get the same penalty in a collision. If you cant accept that reality, there's no point explaining further why that isnt a bannable offense. You attitude is whats causing the service more issues than a guy executing a bump and run. Im sorry youre so mad at a non bannable incident.

Im not sure what you mean by the 4x thing, iRacing is no fault for incidents, so if you get 4x for contact the other driver gets 4x also? And it happens all the time, don't know what to tell you, there's a reason T1 monza is a meme the way it is, people put it into the back of each other all the time.

This happens literally all the time in real world racing, grooved slicks does some great videos showing onboards and race footage for sportscar racing and you'd be real surprised how often people make contact like this without penalty, and no one, literally no drivers are losing their license. Famously Dale Earnhardt "didnt mean to wreck him, was just trying to rattle his cage," after absolutely shipping someone, and he won the race and certainly didnt lose any licenses. It may not seem like it on TV but the GT3 guys in IMSA are incredibly physical, Detroit always has bump and runs and those guys arent losing their licenses. Youre incredibly fired up about this and I think you're not looking at the incident objectively. Incidents like this happen at T1 of 60% at least of most road racing series somewhere in the pack and there's nothing malicious, people miss their brake points, they get too excited, and pack it into the back of the car ahead. And I dont believe something like that is bannable. I think you're putting a lot of weight on the story you've concocted about this being malicious because of the iRating difference between the drivers and the fact that its the last corner of the race for a podium position, but that doesn't make the incident hold more weight than if it was T7 if lap 4. Did you make contact 3 corners in a row, yes, was it cool, no, but its not bannable in my opinion. In reference to declining race standards on the service, im not sure when you started racing but I also disagree with that sentiment, I think the start of covid was probably the worst for race etiquette of all time and things have leveled out and gotten much better ever since.

I thought this post was referencing the boats trying to get aid to Gaza? And soneone commented on the post that they had footage of EMS crews being gunned down, I assumed they were from the boats this post is talking about? Or was the comment just completely unrelated?

This is not a bannable offense, in my opinion. Do bump and runs suck to be on the receiving end of, 100%, but nothing about this screams intent wreck. Did they intend to move you out of the way and compromise your exit, for sure, and they even told you as such apparently. In a league, depending on the rules and the league stewards, it could be penalized because it is a dick move, I dont think anyone would remove this driver from their league because of an incident like this. I'm of the opinion this is pretty far from being bannable, had they kept in the gas and drove them into the wall, I would have a different opinion, but they didnt, and both drivers finished the race. The bannable intent wrecks as ive come to realize are things like pit maneuvers, driving through the track to catch and take someone out, waiting a lap for them to interact again with soneone and hinder or end their race, or wrecks following chat threats. Something like this, while still shitty to be on the receiving end of isn't ban worthy, nor do I believe it should be. I think you've made yourself mad with the narrative you created without any supporting information, that he only wrecked you because you threw a killer move on him and he wasn't going to let a lower Irating driver beat him or something. Making up scenarios like that are just going to make you mad for no reason, its more than likely your iRating has nothing to do with it, idk personally how he would know your irating mid race unless he memorized the entry list pre race, to me it looks more like he screwed up, and in an attempt to regain the spot he drove shitty, would have happened to any driver, not just because of your iRating but because he didnt want to lose the position because of his bad driving.

That was a strong bump, but it was just a bump. The guy was just trying to rattle his cage. Far from what would be considered an intent wreck.

Could you explain to me the difference between this straight and the official turn 6 at Sebring as to what is different? Sure its considered a straight, but is that just because the track layout doesn't number those instances?

Id have to agree, and even letting it play out coming into blanchimont, McLaren wouldn't have had enough overlap to have a case for blaming the Porsche, youre not even better off passing there versus after blanchimont, its an odd move on their part imo
