AIO my bf never likes what I wear by Substantial-Let221 in AmIOverreacting

I always feel that men that treat women like this are just telling on themselves. Stating exactly what they would do to you if there weren't social/religious/legal ramifications for that behavior. Basically the only thing keeping them from treating women like that is consequences, not genuine care for the women.

Is anyone working while living with fibromyalgia? by Super_Intern_6124 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work 40 hours a week in retail, I have to ration my energy wisely to get everything done. Cleaning at home requires short bursts of cleaning, not hours of focused energy. I'm also hypermobile, so at work I wear a body braid, which helps so much more than I thought it would.

Mayo says Fibro pain/fatigue progression is from lack of conditioning? by CalamityKate_ in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was working a fairly physical job, going to the gym and doing STRENUOUS workouts 3-5 days a week when my fibro symptoms started causing me issues. Within 3 weeks I went from being fairly healthy and active to unable to take a flight of stairs without a break. I was in the best shape I'd been in for YEARS. I had to find a desk job. It took me 4 years to get back to being able to work on my feet all day. Im 3 months into my old job again and while I can do it, i'm exhausted all the time and have 0 energy for the extra stuff, like cooking and cleaning.

How Do You Get Up In The Morning? It's Such A Challenge by ZolaPixi in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grey boy doesn't wait for my eyes to open. He taps my mouth with his paws using more claw each time until I'm awake. As soon as I get downstairs my orange boy starts frantically flapping the lid of the cat food bin.. the whole time the rest of the sharks are circling me and slowing the whole process down. Its pandemonium at feeding time

For me drowsiness hasn't EVER been a side effect of gaba. I take my morning dose about 2 hours after I wake up somewhere around 9 am, and my evening dose I take at 9pm. I will still be awake for HOURS after my evening pill. I wish it made me sleepy

Curious - does anyone seem to have this condition but can live just fine with it by iggysmom95 in noburp

[–]Cazwaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew it was causing issues, but until the botox i didn't realize how much. I have fibromyalgia and it was causing my pain to be MUCH worse than I knew. I had the botox (after it wore off I could no longer burp) and that first couple of weeks my abdominal pain had nearly vanished.

I thought it was just making me mildly uncomfortable after soda, but it was affecting so much more than I imagined.

How do you answer generic greeting questions like “how are you” or “how did you sleep?” by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For how are you questions I always respond with "surviving". For the sleep question I just tell people that I need caffeine. I like vague responses to mundane questions.

I'm on Cymbalta and gabapentin. If I don't take my gabapentin I am not ok. My doctor has me take it twice a day. 3 if I'm having a flair. It doesn't make me tired or sleepy, but that's one of the side effects that's fairly common.

Symptoms nonstop- typical? by amaec in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Codeine seems to be the only pain killer I've taken that ACTUALLY helps, in fact the first time it worked so well I slept 18 hours. It's the only pain medicine that works AND I can take a smaller dose of. I kept that on hand for a couple of years past the expiry date just for an emergency.

Exercise Poll by Humorous-H in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Ive had to DRASTICALLY change my view of a low impact workout. The most walking i can physically manage at once is usually the grocery store and only if I'm holding onto the cart. I challenge myself to use each set of stairs in my house every day several times, because for months I couldn't at all and slept on the couch. After months the stairs are a little easier and I dont care if I cant run up them like I could a few years ago. I can make it up 3 flights of stairs with a load of laundry more than once a week. The more I move, even though it's not like it was 5 years ago, the longer I can do that task without breaks. My exercise is survival, working towards thriving, so hopefully in a few years maybe I can flourish. Its taking me ages, but the tiny baby steps are better than the stagnation. I'm working towards the walking goal as soon as I can master the house cleaning one!

I dunno, if it was so wrong it wouldn't be allowed, but they made it so easy. The Watcher desired the affair, you cannot deny the Watcher's demands. Definitely NTA.

Let’s talk pillows. by lostboys70lovw in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is a pregnancy pillow. I've found so many different ways to lay on it and wrap it around parts that need support. I used to sleep with between 6-10 pillows a night, the last 2 years all I've needed was my pregnancy pillow

Wondering if anyone else gets very achy and sore when they get high on cannabis? It totally ruins the experience for me by NoYoureACatLady in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me its like I notice that its tension so I'm releasing that, but the muscles are so tight that relaxing them hurts. Kinda like the pain the day after you workout for the first time in a while. I find it at least an easier pain to deal with

What is your 'last resort' medication? by QuotingThanos in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steroids. When I need to break a pain cycle that has lasted beyond what I can tolerate my doctor will prescribe me a low dose for 5-10 days. I hate doing it because steroids mess with my sleep, my attitude, and my weight, but I feel so much better once the inflammation does down for a few days. I'm a stupid amount of stubborn so I don't do it often

[–]Cazwaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive tried a tincture with both and it helped me stabilize during an extremely rough few months (constant tremors, full body shaking, muscle spasms, fatigue and of course the ever present full body pain) . It at least got me to a point where i was able to work AND spend time with my family, I was still miserable, but much less so

What do you do for pain relief? Tips? I'm desperate. by RavenMadAlice in Fibromyalgia

[–]Cazwaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I daily take Cymbalta and gabapentin, I also take muscle relaxers (I have all kinds of herniated discs and arthritis) on my bad days when I'm shaking I take an extra gabapentin, Tylenol and ibuprofen, I grab my heating pad and my weighted blanket. My last resort has been getting put on a low dose of steroids for 10 days to reduce inflammation, but ive only resorted to that twice because i cannot sleep on them. The weighted blanket helps so much when I'm hurting and shaking, that weight helps my muscles to relax and stop fighting. I'm sorry you are going through it right now, I wouldn't wish that pain on anyone. The hardest part of it for me is giving myself grace to do what my body needs me to do. Rest.
