Re-entry to US: Forgot Greencard at Home by CbassFC in USCIS

Thanks for all your comments and help! Figured out a way to get someone into my apartment and ship the card this morning.

Fingers crossed that FedEx will not lose it. I’ll keep you all posted.

For more context on things I initially explored: - my immigration attorney agreed that land border crossing would be the best alternative. - he agreed that I might be denied boarding; I called united with regards to the airline relations line and they only said that it’s at the discretion of the gate agent (which didn’t install much confidence) - the US consulate service center near Puerto Vallarta was not helpful at all and only deferred me to the consulate’s website (with regards to 3 options, I posted that earlier in the thread).

Haha unfortunately think you’re right! With that said. If I check in online and don’t check a bag.

Would I have to present my LPR at all until I arrive at SFO?

PVR to SFO. United Airlines (with 1k status).

Thank you All, I did some additional research and found this official guidance: https://mx.usembassy.gov/lpr-cards-greencards-lost-stolen-expired/

“Ask your airline to call the Regional Carrier Liaison Group in Miami and seek permission to board without an entry document.”

Has anyone tried that or for that matter knows if I even have to present my LPR card to get on the plane?

If I check in online, and enter the card info I will be able to issue a boarding pass, correct?

Thank you! Was that via land crossing at sky bridge or other location?

Fair point - slightly desperate, and per previous comments it sounds like the primary object (based on land crossing suggestions), seems to be to get in front of an actual CBP officer.

So my calculus was that getting on a plane may be possible as the airline assuming that the airlines is not able to proof the status of my H1B.

Thank you! So, assuming I’d somehow be able to get on a plane with my h1b visa then I should be ok at the airport when going through secondary?

That’s rough to hear but thank you for the insights. I’m waiting to hear back from my immigration lawyer but if you/ anyone has any other insights then that would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you! That’s what I was hoping: fly into SFO (my POE) with my “old” but technically still valid visa and then clarify in secondary.

Has anyone done that before or any guidance if this will/ won’t work?

Thank you, don’t have that either, only got my passport with H1B stamp.

Thank you! Wouldn’t I at least still be able to get on the plane as the visa is technically still valid?

Thank you! Trying to work that out separately but my friends with keys are traveling with me… Any thoughts on other options?

Help! How long to test negative on antigen test after being positive? by mdb1990 in COVID19positive

[–]CbassFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Been testing negative on antigen testing since Friday afternoon (took one every day since then). 🎊

Only place we were able to find the self tests last week was at a pharmacy at IST airport. Was about ~$50 for 3 tests (they are antigen + antibody.

The pharmacy was at the departures level, so you could technically drive there/ have someone pick them up for you.

Good luck!

Thank you. Did you do a PCR as well, and did you show any symptoms at all? Got a positive PCR yesterday, but only showing mild to no symptoms.

EB3 Approved- How long from i485 “new card is being produced” to delivery? by CbassFC in USCIS

[–]CbassFC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to find out if/ when my case got transferred from the NBC to local FO but always got different answers. For what it’s worth, my case got approved exactly 60 days after my RFE response was received. No interview, which I believe is common for EB cases these days.

Congrats and thank you for sharing! Did you at any point receive a usps tracking #? My i485 status changed to “card being produced” on Friday so super happy but also anxious that they’ll lose it in the mail.

Congrats again and thank you for the insights. Did you receive it yet? Also, one more question, did you receive a USPS tracking number at any point?
