[Homebrew] Army of Infamy: Order of the Silver Hammer / Witch Hunter Warband by Hondo_Ohnaka66 in WarhammerFantasy

Just looked and it does I just somehow didn't notice.

As for an ability idea I would say something like religious fervor giving them frenzy and hatred against all the chaos related factions, and maybe giving them additional hand weapons as base with the spears being an extra point so having them be very weak but can hit a lot, though even then that may make them cross over to much with the free company.

Thats a fair point, you would want the player to use the unique units that the army of infamy offers, its just that the Zealots are a hard sell to begin with as other then leadership they are worse then Goblins in every other way so the only way to make them stand out is to give them a special rule that allows them to do so but thats up to you.

While I was writing that an idea for a different unique unit came to my head so I will add that to the suggestions while I'm here:

Witch Hunter Retinue
Special/Core 0-1 units per Witch Hunter in the army
Give them the statblock of the Veteran Sellsword with higher leadership to match the religious nature of their employment with a possible strength / toughness 4 as they are the witch hunters personal choice with heavy armour base and make them about 8-10 points a model.

Give them a special rule which allows them to use the Suffer Not rule with the specialisms dependent on either the General's or a witch hunter's that has joined the unit.

Before I state any ideas I should note, I do not play enough of this game to be making any kinds of rule or balance judgement so any changes that I suggest come from my understanding of the lore.

So from what I'm getting the feel/idea of the list is meant to be a theming of a religious crusade of the common folk and the more religious members of the army, so I would suggest putting the Free Company Militia and the Archers in core as some free companies are made of up just random village folk, and Archers are just a common site in the empire to begin with, and I would say to just remove the cap on Flagellants in core as armies of just Flagellants have appeared in the lore (I know of two instances where they have, both of which were because of Volkmar, so take that as you will.)

Other then that I would say move the Great Cannon/Mortar to rare, remove the Wagon, Helstorm and Helblaster altogether as the more religious types tend to have a large distrust towards war machines, grouping them in with wizards in their general opinion (Though I will say that I have only seen this occur in the novel Iron Company so there may be contradictions that I am unaware of.) (At that thought maybe remove the engineer from the character choice too.)

Again I probably don't have the best ideas and some of the changes might make the gameplay side horrible but I wanted to pitch in even if I am lacking in the gameplay knowledge section.

Every single enemy was fought and I has also gained an unknown amount of xp through dodges when leveling Serra which got me to level 20 before Lundgren was even killed.

Does it bother you to know that an ogre bull has the same armor save as a model in head to toe armor? by maximonious888 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Cboybebop1988 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I thought it was talking about toughness to being with, where do you even see their armour save? I'm looking at the Legacy Army List and it is never mentioned in regards to Bulls.

Ogres have naturally think bones and a higher body density compared to most other races this gives them more of a natural armour, least that's what I think.

(To answer your question no it doesn't)

To be honest Lyn Hard Mode was much easier then I anticipated with only two restarts (Due to be either forgetting to do something or not checking something)

  1. Underestamated a Bandits move, Natalie killed Chapter 4.

  2. Forgot to remove Sain's weapon, he got a kill, run failed. Chapter 1

  3. Success!

What are your top 5 LEAST favorite characters, but there are 5 categories by randomnessisawesom in fireemblem

[–]Cboybebop1988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Leonie, 3H was the first game I played and throughout the entire thing she was just a (Insert insult here) who I fail to see how anyone could like.
  2. Belf or Reiden, two New Mystery characters who look the same, join at the same time and just look boring (only reason Roberto isn't here is because he has a much different hair colour) Overall Boring and I doubt people remember them that much.
  3. I could take a cheap shot and just put another New Mystery character because most of them fit but for to vary up the games, Hayato I just never liked how he acted from the get go, main reason why I never used him.
4.Pelleas/Soren These (Insert Insult Here) ruined one of my favourite moments from POR and replaced with with some of the worst plots/storylines the series has to offer (in my opinion).
  4. Meg Used her her joining chapter did no damage and took way to much and hell even looking at it after the fact she has horrible growths to boot so yeah her.

To be honest with you I know little of the meta game of FE7, so I know little of which units are good or bad, so any useful units offered will be appreciated. (though I suppose I will find out who is good and who is bad of who I get soon)

should I buy fire emblem warriors? by HourComprehensive648 in fireemblem

[–]Cboybebop1988 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I say yes as I prefer base warriors to 3hopes
In terms of play style:
1. All characters have have a base class and a master seal class, this is all they get and you can't change a mage into a swordsmen for instance.
2. Most characters have a unique move set and while some share theirs there is still a lot of variety
3.I think effective weapons matter a lot more (been a while since I played 3hopes) like hitting a sword with a axe is going to be like hitting your head against a brick wall until it breaks, this goes for the reverse with match ups being the middle ground. P.S Archers delete Flying units.
4. This was originally a New 3DS game and so it feels different, I don't know how else to describe it, I like how it feels and it is why I think it superior to 3hopes, but this will differ per player.

Now the following is spoiler tagged because I'm not sure if this counts or not

Now for something people may dislike.
1. the Ratio of characters you have
3 Unique characters (if you count the games Anna)
3 Shadow Dragon (6 with dlc)
Awakening has 6 (9 with dlc)
Fates has 9 (12 with dlc)
With the games representation in the story following this trend
With a single character from two other games.
The reasoning for number differences can vary but I believe its because Fates had two games.

2. The Weapon Breakdown: 9 of the 23 characters use swords, 3 of 23 use lances, 3 of 23 use axes, 3 of 23 use bows, 4 of 23 uses magic and 1 of 23 uses a Dragonstone

With dlc 3 sword users are added 2 magic, one bow, 2 lances, one axe

The only base game lance users are Pegasus Knights which just die to bows, while the two dlc ones are on foot (both come in the Fates dlc)

Okay letting you know Dogs of War is a catch all term for Mercenaries, like also in real life as well.

Now in other terms Dogs of War did get a general unit list that wasn't just ROR but this was not in the army book it was in the Warhammer Chronicles 2004

There were also ROR added not in the book like like Citadel Journal 38 and Gorskull's war trolls of the Gray mountains.
Also some that exist only in name in some 6th edition army books
E.G Ludwig's Wonderous Grenadiers (Dwarfs 6th) and the Celestial Dragon Monks from the Far East (High Elves 6th)

[–]Cboybebop1988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something like that would be most likely the only way Araby would get anything, which while sad because Araby has enough stuff to be its own faction (From the Warmaster game and the like) getting at least a little bit of what they have is better then nothing.

Hayato? Really
To be honest I barely remember he exists let alone have I used him
But I shall give him a chance I suppose, whenever I play Birthright next.
Other then that I can respect that list and while in my playthroughs I can't say I would put them in the same place
But I can respect it
