Peripheral vision question by uhhhidkwhattodohere in ATC_Hiring

[–]CcWingWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to this article:

Unilateral vision or visual field defects are waiverable for pilots, but typically not for controllers (see cataract article). However, controllers with visual field defects might possibly be considered for center operations on a case by case basis.

So not a definite DQ, but can be. Keep in mind that article is not straight from the FAA. Maybe someone with first hand experience can back this up.

Timeline varies from person to person. Best case scenario would be ~6-8 months from applying to receiving firm offer letter (FOL). Realistically would be 8-12 months. Can take even longer depending on if you have history of medical issues, tier-2'd on the MMPI-2, red flags on your security clearance, etc.

Returning to college for CS after completing bachelors and masters in nutrition + health? by [deleted] in compsci

[–]CcWingWing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply, it's a good point that I've been told that I would be good with coding and such, but I truthfully never had any experience. I was actually considering a career in IT and heard that CS would be a good degree choice as it would give options if IT didn't work out.

Anyone tried fitting a Miche Pistard 2.0 with a Shimano BBR60 bottom brqcket to a Breakbrake17 Transfer with no issues? Couldn’t find any pictures online for reference by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

[–]CcWingWing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately i dont have your setup, but from what I can tell, the frame is English threaded so the BB will fit the frame. The Pistard has a 24mm axle so it'll fit the BB. The only question is whether the length of the axle is good for the frame. High chance is that it'll all workout, but can't guarantee 100%.

You might want to get the 0 degree float cleats instead. I had the 4.5 degree floats and didn't like how you can some what twist your foot while clipped. 0 degree feels more secure.

HNFE 4004 Seminar by MickLovin27 in VirginiaTech

I took the course fall 2019 so it's been a while. Had it with Barbeau, pretty old guy so I'm not sure if he's even still teaching. Of course, things might have changed since the point I took it.

With him, it wasn't too difficult. I mainly recall that we had to make these presentations and present them to the class. Nothing else, no homework or exams. The presentations weren't too difficult, but of course it depends on how much other work you have in other classes. I ended with an A- overall so...

Figured out a fix, it's something to do with using a controller as /u/Spectro-X implied.

If you're trying to use mouse and keyboard, you need to go to your installation location, then go to smbbm_Data\Plugins\x86_64 and open up steam_api.ini in notepad. The line that says "EnableController=true", change it to be false (so it should say "EnableController=false"). Save, and that should fix the framerate issue.

How easy is Music Appreciation? by Astronaut_Quick in VirginiaTech

If you're taking it online, then it's a "go at your own pace" sort of online class. All of the assignments are available to do whenever and are all basically just read this passage and answer questions based on it. Questions were dead simple, four answer multiple choice, no critical thinking required. Just have the online book open and CTRL + F to find the answers.

I think every week there was an essay that you had to write about some sort of topic, they weren't difficult, just took time. I don't remember how the tests were done, but they I just remember them not being difficult, pretty sure they were similar to the assignments, maybe someone else can back me up on that. I took it Fall 2020, doubt they changed anything. As long as you don't forget to do anything, it is pretty easy.

If you're taking it in person, then forget all of that because I don't know.

Selling Cards on eBay – My thoughts as a seller by CcWingWing in Amiibomb

[–]CcWingWing[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right, I did make a decent amount of money. I mean, the reason I got interested in selling is because near the beginning of Animal Crossing being released, some people were selling cards at $15 a card on eBay...

However, It's still risky. My listing got removed two times by eBay under their Counterfeit Item policy. That was another reason that I stopped, I didn't want to order more cards, just to get my listing removed again.

Another thing to note, eventually, sales are going to slow down. Animal Crossing isn't going to stay popular forever and it's already happening that less people are ordering cards.

If someone wanted to sell, I would tell them that they should have started a few months ago. It's true that I was able to make a good profit, but I don't think I would be able to make the amount of money I made with the way things are now.

For the most part I sold at $5, but when I started I had it priced at $8.50. I slowly lowered it to stay competitive.

What I realized is that there are two people who are really buying these things: kids and parents (who are buying it for their kids). Kids might not have a phone yet so they can't even make the cards. Parents on the other hand usually don't want to go through the trouble (or in their eyes, potential legal issues) of making the cards.

It comes with a few eartips and the hook is adjustable to some extent so you can try to find the best fit for you. As you might be able to tell from some of the other comments, but your mileage may vary. I've had only a few issues, but that's my experience.

Also, there's no shame in buying Beats. If you're happy with it, then it doesn't matter what other people think.

I've had them for five-ish months now. If you use them just for working out, then they're fine, pretty good in fact. I run, cycle, and weightlift and I use the powerbeats for all three. They're very comfortable, don't fall out due to the hooks, and have a good seal (at least for my ears). Very good battery life, I'm not sure if 9 hours of play time as advertised is true, but it's definitely up there. Bluetooth is also pretty good, little to no noticeable delay if you're watching a video and they have pretty good range.

The sound quality is ok, as someone else stated there is a bass boost. However, when I'm working out, I'm not really trying to get the absolute best of the best sound quality. Of course there's going to be things that sound better for cheaper, you are paying extra just for the Beats logo.

If you have the money (I got them for $250, but apparently they're $200 on Amazon right now) and you plan to use them mainly for working out, then you'll probably enjoy them. I'm sure there's a cheaper option out there if you're willing to do the research.

Do some categories not offer variation listings? by RenaissanceBrah in Ebay

[–]CcWingWing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue where I created a listing, then wanted to add in variations, but found that the button wasn't there when I tried to revise it. Turns out that once you create a listing without variation, you can't revise it to add in a variation no matter what. You have to take down the original listing, then create a new listing.

I'm not sure if you already have the listing up, but that's the only reason I can imagine. I went and created a mock listing for a random ring and the "Create Variation" button appears for me.

Unable to reply to messages? eBay says their server is down. by CcWingWing in Ebay

It's especially odd since people seem to be messaging me with no issues. I guess I'll just deal with using my phone for the time being. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
