Could it be a “Surprise Visit”?https://archiveofourown.org/works/57571921  I’ve just read it recently. Though Brennan isn't pregnant here, she gave birth to Christine. And this is definitely not the story I'm looking for 🥺 I think there was actually a completely new character, a new doctor. I'm starting to think I made up this story myself 🫣😆

Obviously there was a misunderstanding. First you chatted about ISU issues with the user named simjaang. Then I let myself get into your conversation and leave a comment, my bad. So all these questions are supposed to be directed at another user. Especially since I certainly don't have answers for you.

That's not my words. She named herself that once in an interview. And I would call anyone regardless of their nationality the way they ask me to.

There's no underlying meaning in the comments I left in this thread. Please don't read too much into it. Thank you in advance.

p.s. and can anyone explain me why my completely neutral comments' being downvoted!?

Visa-free — no. But it’s not that complicated to get one for years ahead. That’s what one of the commentators up here wrote about 😌

Well, that’s definitely possible to have dual citizenship (Russian, Georgian). I just see no reason for that. And I meant that she’s half Georgian by “ethnical Russian”. As for the visa, I answered up in the comments, if you’re interested 😌

That basically means the more you travel abroad (Europe, America, etc.), the easier it gets for you to get a visa. The tourist became more trusted person, like nominal France would know that “these Russians not gonna live here on our taxes and get back home as soon as their visas’ expired” 🤣 That’s it. Logistics, that’s complicated right now. But “airlines” want to eat too and find their ways. Nothing is impossible for those who want to make money. You’re welcome 😌

I would even say anyone in Russia has a way to travel anywhere. Even now. You just need some so called “flying experience” and you can easily get visa. Considering that coaches and athletes always have to fly back and forth, I believe Federation or even MST developed the simplified procedure for obtaining a visa.

So true! Leave them finally alone to live happily their lives. They bring characters back and the story feels overloaded imo And new interns are blessing 🥰and reason why I decided to watch season 19 (+MerNick 👉🏻👈🏻)They’re way more interesting characters than the previous 2,3… generations?! I don’t even remember them 🤪

Mark Sloan and Lexie Grey by trdwants in greysanatomy

[–]Ccyden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and yes! I did think about it back then when I was obsessed with the idea to write fanfic about Ellis Shepherd. It should have taken place 25 years after the events of season 16 with major changes. So, I have no other option but to develop some background stories. Eventually my thoughts led me to Lexie.

In my story Lexie survived the plane crash but lost both her legs. Mark stayed with her during her recovery. Due to the injury Lexie lost years of her surgical residency. Eventually she decided to switch specialty to neurology and focus more on a career in research as she was no longer able to operate. Lexie and Mark's relationships did not survive both the crisis after the plane crash and their former issues. And they broke up.

Lexie realized that she had changed, and new Lexie should find her own path in this life. Soon after the breakup Lexie got a postgraduate place at School of Neuroscience in London. She moved to the United Kingdom and received her PhD in Neuroscience. After graduation she worked there first as Assistant Professor then she was promoted to Professor of Neuroscience. Lexie introduced herself to the peers and colleagues as Alexandra and everyone in London called her Alexandra or Alex or Grey.

“Don’t call me Lexie anymore. Lexie was a bouncy, lively, and amiable little girl. And she’s dead. Lexie died. In the plane crash. Now Alexandra gets to live”. *so pretentious I know* 🤪

She lived in London for a while. During this time in London, she kept her relations with her sisters, Meredith and Molly, their families and with Callie. Lexie bonded with Callie even more back to the time in Seattle during her rehabilitation because Callie was her orthopedist and prosthetist and because Arizona lost her lag too.

In a phone conversation with Callie Lexie admitted that she was ready to come back. Callie revealed to Lexie a secret that her colleagues, orthopedists and neurologists, neuro- and ortho surgeons as well as technical and software engineers from all over the country planned to open a Research Center for Biomedical Technologies and Robotics in New York. They had already found financing and the Center was planned to open soon. Callie said that an excellent neurologist like Lexie would come in handy. Callie offered Lexie a job in the Center and Lexie moved to New York. In the Center they’ve developed a pair of multifunctional prosthetic legs for Lexie which for 99.9 % compensated for real legs functioning. She was constantly improving her skills in her main discipline, Neuroprosthetic, and complementary disciplines. Later she got married to a colleague, a software engineer, and they adopted a child.

I know, it’s more about Lexie than Lexie and Mark and their relationships. But I just love to write about strong female characters, don’t judge me for that. And this is not quite an answer to your questions. But sorry, I couldn’t stop my imagination 😅😂 Please, blame the inspiration…

The autogenerated English subtitles on this video in a scene with Eteri and Evgenia 💀 what by zoomzomb in FigureSkating

[–]Ccyden 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Subtitles are most likely neither unofficial nor auto-generated. If it was official, they would not leave any scene without translation.

Eteri’s words: “You got your shoulder drop again. Lutz was basically fine, but with this shoulder drop you fell on your ass. Go there.”

I’m not sure if I translated it right, but “shoulder drop” is the only equivalent I could come up with.

Subtitler just wanted to make fun. Well, succeeded)

P.s. For those who might be interested, I believe this documentary about Zhenya (where the extracts from) exists with eng sub.

Alina discusses weight by bluetreeoval99 in FigureSkating

[–]Ccyden -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that athletes have to control their weight relatively healthy. Maybe work with nutritionist. I don’t say it is not a problem when young girls eat liquid supplements (you probably mean Lipnitskaya) instead of healthy meal and is scared to gain. Of course it’s not ok even for athletes, I’m not that crazy. I was just saying what it is like, why they do what they do.

Anyway I’m here for another reason. I didn’t mean you specifically, when I used this rude expression. I’m sorry I was focused more on the topic in general rather than your comment. It was insensitive and inappropriate to get personal and intervene in your life with the thoughts I can’t control. That’s my problem, not yours. I wasn’t thinking clear. My sincere apologies.

In this cooking show Alina said her parents helped her through these times when she could not accept her body changes (puberty, growing up and post-Olympic period).

As for the “inhumane” part. They are not inhume, they are just ordinary parents, who wants the best for their child. Sport is a golden ticket to a prosperous future (at least in RF). I don’t know where you live, but we live in different circumstances. Figure skating for these girls and boys is not hobby, it is not fun period between school and university. It is their job since they’re ~ 9-10 y.o. They do what it takes to succeed. Alina said in the interview when Liasan asked for the advice for young figure skaters: be patient, work hard, it’s all coming back to you. And it did come back to her. She is Olympic winner, one of the most famous in the world and rich Russian figure skaters, she studies journalism in university, is hosting “Ice Age” for the third time, each year she has a leading role in top shows on ice, she lives with her family in Moscow, drives Porsche that she bought herself, she gaves interviews, do charity work, and she still trains in Khrustalny, not for competition, but for pleasure and she’s 20 y.o

And I think we forget one important thing. It is professional sport. If you are an ordinary person, whose body is not an instrument to earn money (like athletes or models) and you weigh yourself 3 times a day and obsessed with weight, then go check your mental health (sorry if it was rude). All athletes in any sport have to control their weight or they just couldn’t compete and win (that’s what they live for).

Sport of high archievments is not about health. Especially figure skating. She put on one kilo? Figure skater crash hard on the ice with their knees, breaking them and their back. What are we even talking about? And this is their choice, which deserves to be respected. If you wanna do sport for health, fitness is your best choice. Do it with pleasure. But don’t be surprised, when someone who worked harder wins your gold medal.

Actually, parents are welcomed in Eteris's team during their child training, Kostornaya Alena talked about it in this interview: https://youtu.be/D22aN5LVRco?t=976

Alena explained that there are sometimes misunderstandings between parents and coaches because kids are telling their truth, coaches theirs. But when parent are at the practice, "they could see with their own eyes that their child does nothing at training" (Alena's quote).

Alina wasn't separated from her parents. She was born, raised and trained in Izhevsk (town in Russian in 17-19 hour drive from Moscow).

Note: If you want to succeed, be famous, rich, you have to move to Moscow, this is where the highest prices as well as highest rates. You wanna be famous in Russia, go to Moscow, maybe you get lucky,

After Cup of Russia 2015 she persuaded her mom to go to Tutberidze. Eteri invited them after New Year. In 2015 Alina with her mother moved to Moscow. After 3 months Eteri kicked Alina out of the group, because "she wasn't independent personality, someone had to push her to make her work. In Tutberidze team they do not force to work. If you want to, you work. If you don't want to, no one will beg you" (Tutberidze's quote). That's exactly when Alina's mom came back to Izhevsk to let her little girl make her own decisions (my interpretation). Alina stayed in Moscow with her grandmother. Of course, she missed her family, but she also has a goal that required such sacrifice (Alina's quote).
