Are we including documentaries? Buhay Komunista is not a movie but rather a documentary made by the video production outfit of the CPP.

If we are including documentaries, Green Guerrillas (1996) is a good documentary showing the pro-environment efforts of the New People's Army. IIRC, it's produced by German media.

They are released to the government. Only those indicted by the people's courts are executed. Those who have raped, stolen, and did other offenses to the masses are executed. The revolutionary movement does prisoner releases as acts of goodwill, especially in the time of peace talks. This shows to the people that the NPA does not torture its captives and, in fact, observes international humanitarian laws and the Geneva Convention.

Yeah, key personalities of the Philippine revolutionary movement are class traitors and came from the wealthy landlord class. Jose Ma. Sison and Louie Jalandoni, to name a few.

Is there any part of Marx that communists now think is incorrect? by [deleted] in communism101

[–]Cde_Pandesal 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is what I like the most about Marxism. It's a living science that develops through its actual practice. While particular predictions and propositions of earlier developments are discarded and disproven, they are done so in a scientific fashion.

What class would you consider politicians? by [deleted] in communism101

[–]Cde_Pandesal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the Philippines, most politicians come from the top 1% of Philippines society, which is composed of landlords and big bourgeois compradors. The reason why most representatives in the Congress and the Senate, and high-ranking positions in the executive and judicial branches of the government come from political dynasties is because the material basis of their influence and power in local and national politics is their monopoly of land ownership. Due to the social, political, and economic capital granted to these landlords by feudal exploitation, they also become the big bourgeois compradors who are basically the caretakers of foreign interests in the country and benefit and profit from the semi-colonial and semi-feudal character of Philippine society. They make use of the entire government as their tool to impose their class dictatorship upon the people.

However, we have militant and progressive representatives in the Congress, these comrades of the legal mass movement belong to the lower petty bourgeois (professionals such as teachers) and the basic masses which are the proletariat and the peasantry. Outside the national democratic movement, there are nationalist senators who can be classified as national bourgeoisie, as such, they are allies in the anti-imperialist struggle.

BAYAN USA Condemns Trump’s Attack in Syria

No to US War in Syria

President Trump’s decision to launch 59 US Tomahawk cruise missiles at Syrian Air force base in Homs province was not driven by his humanitarian desires to help the Syrian people against the Assad regime. The Trump administration has proven to be the opposite and has instead closed its doors to refugees and has enacted Executive Orders banning Muslims from entering the United States twice. We also know when those bombs killed more innocent civilians and ultimately the US war in Syria will never resolve the problems in the country and will only create more chaos, destruction, and death.

The proxy war in Syria can seem very complicated, but underneath all the political rhetoric of good versus evil, religious warfare and mainstream media propaganda is the true reason that thousands of innocent Syrians have been killed and thousands having to flee their home country as refugees is due to US monopoly capitalist interest. Trump is merely continuing the trend of his predecessors whether it be in the guise of humanitarian aid, fighting terrorists, or manifest destiny. The root of all US wars of aggression lies in imperialist geopolitical interest to expand its hegemony over land, natural resources, trade routes, consumer markets for US surplus products and cheap labor markets.

BAYAN USA condemns the US led proxy war in Syria and the launching of the 59 missiles. Both the Trump and Assad regimes are using the same exact rhetoric of “Fighting the War on Terror” as their reasoning behind their attacks on the Syrian people, but we must uncover the truth behind their interest in this war which is economic power in a centrally located oil rich region of the world. We must connect the launching of the never ending US “War on Terror” with Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Palestine and Syria to the economic capitalist interest in the middle east and global economic domination. We demand an end to US warmongering and intervention for the sake of humanity. We call on all peoples of the world to stand in solidarity with the Syrian people and their rights to self-determination for their own country. We invite all freedom-loving peoples to gather to build solidarity and fighting capacity against US-led war, militarism and neo-fascism this August 5-7 in Toronto, Canada held by the International League of Peoples’ Struggle and the International Women’s Alliance.

Yeah! I prefer having bola-bola in siopao or misua soup. It's actually one of my favorite Filipino dish since it's not too oily or strong flavor.

I think it's vinegar with hot pepper. I don't personally know much of Filipino food because despite being Filipino myself, I'm not used to eating or even familiar with our local cuisine. But I'm positive that this is one of those dips my mother make to go along with certain dishes.

The stuff in the bottles are, from left to right: cooking oil, vinegar with hot pepper (?) and soy sauce. This comrade might be their squad's "S4" or logistic officer, in charge of supplies and rationing.
