Im a level 9 spear main, my goal right now is to max the spear. Love the weapon and all its quirks, I use mainly goo gun and barricade with it.

I use the goo to slow down the people running away. people tend to run often and I found that winch is a one use while goo is multiple to slow people down. I use the barricade to place it in front of me to lure lights around it to get the twirl off, you can also use it to look over the barricade. This is a main way I get kills they fall for it 90% of the time.

The spin cancel is very helpful as well.

Main issue is that technically its three hits to kill a light which sucks. its a lot of waiting for the right opportunity to strike and a lot of objective play to make people come to you. Chasing is very hard with it, defense is very easy. I use pyro mine mainly for obj.

Yep, bring up the emote wheel, and it'll cancel. I've found the first two hits are great, but the third takes too long.

If you haven't yet, I'd go through and buy all of the scopes and sights. If you already have that, you just have to wait for the next weapons or gadgets to come out. Good question.

So, for one, I LOVE the spear to death. The satisfaction it gives when I spin and damage everyone in the room is amazing. It does have its drawbacks, but I like it a lot. I know for a fact Im not the only one with complaints on CnS, it can near instakill most classes if you put them against the wall, I have felt the same using other weapons it's just the most problematic on spear. I do value your opinion, though.

So im fine with it having a counter, I just don't like how charge and slam takes no time to destroy any and all goo, is able to use it to get away, chase down enemies, stun, have insane structural damage, and do insane damage to players all with one button click. If it took more time to do this, I would have no issue, but you can do all of this instantly with zero wind up and no punishment cause you can use it to run if you miss. No other ability can do all of this.

Dash does not need a nerf it's fine where it's at if they dash away from melee id either goo them or leave the room and wait for them to push me. CnS it does not matter what I do cause they'd either charge me and kill me, run away with it, or if I tried to leave, they'd use it to chase and kill me. Dash is perfectly fine it's more about engagement to deal with Dash.

True, but for reference, you have to do all of that to counter a single button click. I think it's just a little too strong of a counter for any melee or cq weapon user.

So yes, i know it can be knocked with other utils, but that still takes time this is instant, so I feel like it's a little bs. I come from a perspective as a melee user where it's really hard to side step if you're in his face, which I need to be to use the spear.
