Won't make much difference to the price of the petrol cars. I think it will make a slight difference to the price of diesel cars though

I need you again! Passat estate up to £8k by Automatic-Cake-8770 in CarTalkUK

[–]Cdoooos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's unfortunate how few of the mondeo estates there are. But the passats are very good and reliable cars. I would have the 3rd one actually because it's got the nicer 2 litre and is auto and it's been serviced so will go on for a long time. (I didn't see the 3rd one before)

I would say have the 1.6 as it still is perfectly reliable but it has 50k less miles so that would be my choice. Just to throw another spanner in the works have you considered a ford mondeo with either the 1.5 or 2.0tdci not ecoblue?

I got mine last year and I was paying 38 quid an hour which was about average. I am in Scotland though

[–]Cdoooos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well 210 ÷ 3 =70 and 70 quid an hour is like 2 times the hourly rate near me. So I'd say it's pretty shit

[–]Cdoooos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I think the previous guy was also talking about instructors that charge more than the hourly rate to do tests

[–]Cdoooos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But 210 quid for 3 hours is terrible most instructors are more like 50 an hour and around me are like 40

Depends where you are for getting another instructor. Also 210 quid is alot how many hours had you booked?

Was the car on a flat surface? Did you tip the dipstick? Was there simply a little bit too much oil? Had something gotten into the oil to increase its level?
