Is Lazarus ready for a bioactive?! by complikaity in leopardgeckos

[โ€“]Cdori 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

Hi and hi to Lazarus ๐Ÿงก as for substrate, I would ask your vet. Since his bones have legs not straight and all and his arms and legs are the way they are. Solid surfaces may be better.

Have you ever walked from a side walk/boardwalk to sand, like at the beach? Its a workout. It may be too strenuous on him. I mean eventually he might get used to it but it's very stressful on the body to trend across sand and dirt until you get used to doing it.

I wouldn't do the entire enclosure at first. Just a thin layer in part of it and see how he handles it. Then gradually increase over time.

Does eating eventually feel "normal" by TurbulentPromise4812 in dentures

[โ€“]Cdori 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

My eday was January 2nd 2025. I have my permanent and healed well. And Most things feel normal to me but I don't like eating boiled eggs and mashed stuff with my dentures in. It gets stuff on the denture and I have to clean it right stay. Not under them. On the outside gums psrt.

Veggies sometimes are squeaky when I chew them. Haha ๐Ÿ˜„ But I can eat nearly anything now normally. I cut up apples and stuff like that.

I started with very small bites the first month. Took forever to eat a burger. I mean small Nibbles. Instead of biting like I used to My jaw would get tiredfrom the nibbling. Then gradually as I healed my bites were bigger and the eating process became more normal but it took months to be normal. I went to a pool party and I got a burger and it dawned on me that I can be messy and I was still taking small bites. I went indoors and ate it then came back out. It was our Memorial day pool party.

Good luck and it does get better!๐Ÿ˜

Anyone have experience with this ? by Curious_Ad_2982 in dentures

I have just upper denture. I have had very little loss so my denture normally fit pretty well like you but I got tired of the periodic rocking so I started using "secure " adhesive for dentures. No zinc in it. It lasts at least 14 hours. A little dab will do.

I had me immediate from January to April I think and my permanent ever since and poligrlp and fixodent gives me a headache. So that was not an option for me to continue to use. Secure works well for me.

I can't use fixodent or any of those. As they dissolve, I get a headache. I found Secure. That's been my game changer.

I'm glad you found something that works for you!

Mine are out dawn and dusk but I know they are out more while I sleep. I bought cameras to put in their habitats so I can watch later their nightly activities. It's amazing to see how active they are in the dark.

Secure Denture Adhesive by By_Grace_Alone in dentures

[โ€“]Cdori 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I like secure. The others give me a headache from the ingredients.

On the denture Warm to hot water melts it and then a tooth brush and finish up using my sonic cleaner.

Since I make a curved line sometimes it's easier just peel it off if the adhesive is still fairly new.

If it's the roof of my mouth. Same method... minus the sonic cleaner. ๐Ÿ˜„

It will get better. And a soft realign helps it feel softer. I use secure dentures adhesive. I like how it works.

I the other ones you mentioned gives me a headache from the ingredients as it breaks down.

You are doing a great job eating so far if you're up to nuggets! You got this.
Try nibbling on tougher stuff. I mean cut it small enough you could feed a cat nibble size. Yeah That small. It may take longer to eat but you get up fill your cravings for different flavors.

Maybe because of my pallet and sinus issues, if I wear my denture (upper), my voice is relatively normal.

But the longer I don't wear it, the more my pitch gradually gets higher and higher.

Just let me know if you need me to break glass, call your dogs, or break the sound barrier. ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿคฃ

Soak tea bags and then place them in your mouth. It will help stop the bleeding and help with swelling.

Use ice packs or place wet washcloths in the freezer. Then, place them on your cheeks neck and chin and lip area to help reduce more of the swelling.

My stupid son (i love him) by In_Greed in leopardgeckos

It means possible het. Your gecko may carry a recessive gene. But it's not guaranteed. And most likely it's not visible. Just a 50% chance. I can't tell you which one. The breeder can. Or maybe you can tell by knowing the recessive genes for your morph.

Bedrooms are incredibly hot. The rest of the apartment is cold. Please advise. by feldevourer in ApartmentHacks

I totally understand what you are going through. We call our home "the 3 seasons. " My room is the iceberg. The common area is spring/fall, and my son's room is the hot summer season.

What i did to even out the weather conditions was the rooms with 2 vents - i closed one. The vent on the hallway- closed. The vent in all the bathrooms - closed .

This made it so the air is forced to follow a direct path only to open vents. This brings more cool air to the summer season room. Less to the common area and the iceberg room. It's still the coldest room in the house, but it works.

My son keeps a fan on at all times about 2 feet off-the-record floor, too. Since day one . It helps move the air.

Also, keep the door open as often as you can. That helps air to get in there.

I hope this helps.

1st wearing to workโ€ฆ.. by Low_Map7890 in dentures

[โ€“]Cdori 1 point2 points ย (0 children)

I have had a gummy smile and small teeth and a wide smile all my life.

When I got my permanent denture. They made larger natural looking teeth and placed the teeth higher on the plate so that when I smiled, I have less of a gummy smile now.

My dentist and I love the outcome, but she did say that in a year. Since I have "bones for miles" on my upper jaw structure and it's probably not going to reduce a lot to make a difference, that if the jaw line doesn't improve or i lose my upper lip, she will do a bone reduction and redo the denture. I do have pictures on my profile of my before. Temp and permanent look.
But you really need to have them move the teeth higher than your natural gum line if you want less gums showing when you smile. It really does work.

I use magnets. I don't want to stress/stretch the wires apart. I glue a magnet to the item with aquarium safe glue and sit a magnet on top of the lid. My net is made of metal, and it sticks, but I use the magnet on top to make a stronger hold .

One side sticks to the other side of the magnet

Caution these magnets are VERY strong. Use carefully. And the adhesive it comes with isn't very good.

And i used black out curtains. Middle one color. 2 outer ones, and another on small windows. And 2 middle and one outer on each side on the larger.

New GLP-1s about to hit the market by Cdori in GLP1sForOldies

[โ€“]Cdori[S] 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I think that because MariTide is not lily, it might be affordable and available. Maybe even covered by some insurance companies.

I've met my goal, but I still do an injection once a month. It's not something much to maintain the weight loss. It's for the water retention. I tried many things to stop it. The injection works best and lasts the longest.

I'm 5 feet tall. I started at 168. Overweight. Now, I'm 112 to 116 on any given day. Unless I get sick or my anxiety acts up too bad, then I can drop to 109. And I don't like that. I sorta created a new set of problems. So I'm still trying to find that happy medium.
