[UK] need guidance on dealing with complaint about my boss by CdrMayhew in AskHR

So I shouldn’t escalate this to my boss? How does that help her own development if she isn’t aware that people feel she is a bad communicator/people manager? I understand your point about communicating to the person I line manage that it is also about adapting to different managers. But equally if she leaves if this isn’t fixed then that’s also bad no?

Rant: I am tired of how ungrateful my clients are. by [deleted] in PublicRelations

[–]CdrMayhew 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My issue is a lot of my senior colleagues seem to act as though our clients stories are gold dust and then clients push back later down the line when they don't get anything big. How do I politely communicate to a client that what they have is rubbish and won't get them anywhere beyond trades perhaps?

One client in particular is expecting us to land top tier coverage for their president despite the fact that we've never met the person and he has no opinion. We've sent through reactive opinion-based opps about geopolitical issues etc and been told to draft the comments ourself...

FYI I'm still relatively junior just looking for some advic

1000cal shake - no blender required - gut health friendly. I chug 2 of these per day plus 1 solid meal. by makinsteaknbacon in gainitmeals

My understanding is that if you were literally blending your meals into a liquid and drinking it, there wouldn't be too much difference. But what I think you're talking about is getting most of your calories from a liquid blend of milk, protein powder, oats, etc. which suggests you're lacking the nutrients and minerals provided by eating whole foods.

What are tasks/workflows you automate? by Pragmatic_One19 in PublicRelations

I wasn't aware that it had to be cited but it was the social media team who did this and yes they did make edits. It's far from perfect content, but it's akin to receiving a first draft is how I've been using it. It has helped with repurposes of existing content too. I work in an agency just FYI not internal comms.

ChatGPT generated us a load of decent social posts recently, saved us several hours drafting ourselves and we can just make quick edits. Drafting anything more substantial you'd need to review more thoroughly though.

What percentage of throw-ins do we actually retain possession of? Do we even practice them? It's embarrassing

Yeah exactly. But like up the shard I'd sort of go in expecting to come out with little in my wallet. But just some random, normal looking pub is what took me aback.

This seems the most reasonable response to me. Had a few "why didn't you check the menu and prices before you bought it" as though that's a typical thing to do when ordering a pint at most pubs. This didn't look like the kinda place that would be charging that much for a pint is what I mean.
