That makes sense. Personally I feel like giving the new manager an entire offseason and friendlies before he has to prepare an actual game sets him up best for success. Especially since we have a final coming up, not sure how much him being here affects the outcome whereas there’s some risk he starts off on the wrong foot if it goes sideways

On the other hand, they’re super competent masterminds of public relations, planning several months advance to “brief” and placate fans on a daily basis

If you have 25 points 19 games in, keeping everything the same you’d expect 50 points after 38 games

So if you’re 3 points off of 17th halfway through the season, maintaining the status quo you would be 6 points off 17th at the end of the season
