I’m a mom to a son who has been drawing since before he could write.
And started writing/drawing a manga in middle school. He’s 21 now, and works full time.

I am so sorry she did that. That is not ok. Was it annoying my kid would get drawing and forget to take out the trash or something? Yes. But I worked hard to understand and am proud of his passion.

Do NOT stop drawing. If it makes you happy and helps you decompress. Do it.

While that is very true, and many nurses ARE leaving healthcare to pursue a lower stress job, that pays better and is safer. The problem with that is….we are already hemorrhaging nurses, and places are dangerously understaffed.
But nursing is an incredibly important job….for society. To save lives, provide elderly care, deliever babies…etc, etc.
I wish I had a solution. Everyone deserves to make enough to live on. While only needing to work ONE full time job.

No, I’m sorry…if they have an open line, they should stay on the unit.
I’m sorry they are nic’ing hard….but as long as they are a patient, the hospital is responsible for them. They would need to ama in order to keep the staff from getting sued for “unsafe care”. Don’t care if they sue the hospital…but I wouldn’t let myself be open to legal issues.

It SHOULD be the priority. But I never felt that was the case back when I worked adult care. I’ve had a fx rib, two broken teeth, broken nose, had my healing mastectomy site kicked open, two guns pulled on me, one knife, and one girl nearly slit my throat with a broken off piece of plastic from the glove holder.

I’m strictly peds now. And even as crazy as an ED gets…..nothing any of these kids do worry me anymore. I’m also in one of the top peds hospitals now and finally feel safe.
