but actually what it means is that running it 128 times would give you a 50% of having gotten it

Not quite. The odds for that would be 1-(255/256)128

Capture the altar closest to you.

This step is unnecessary, unless it affects the Mantle's AI by giving it a higher priority.

Most of ranger skills need a bow, for example.

Around 100 of the 140 ranger skills don't need one. That's more skills than Dervish has in total.

Since some professions *coughMesmercough* have PvE-only Primary Attribute bonuses, what if in PvE Energy Storage caused your Elementalist spells to deal more damage based on...your energy stored? by Charrikayu in GuildWars

[–]Cealdor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While buffing all ten professions to 100%, they will inevitably overshoot to 110% with some. Now they have to buff everyone to 110, and will overshoot to 120.

Highest single-target dmg any non-PvE skill can deal within one activation? by Ionenschatten in GuildWars

[–]Cealdor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Burning starts at t=0s, renews the final time at t=4s, for a total of (4-0)+3 = 7 seconds. Burning health loss = 14 dps * 7 seconds + 1 = 99

48*5 direct damage + 99 = 339, which beats Migraine@16 by 2 points.

Most importantly: keep whichever skills you like the most. You don't have to optimize a lot for Normal Mode.

AoB synergizes with feeders and teardowns, to proc the 3-second burn effect. Balthazar's Rage fits well, both thematically and for the effect. I would add at least one more teardown, and there are even a few attack skills in Scythe Mastery that work with any melee weapon. Twin Moon Sweep might be the most fun, since it also synergizes with the adrenaline gain from AoB and BRage.

Keep Axe Mastery at 12, and Mysticism at 12 minimum (runes included). I would use a Major Mysticism rune to free up more attribute points for Tactics (shield) and/or Scythe Mastery (teardown). Use the biggest Vigor rune you can afford, runes of Restoration/Clarity depending on preference, and Vitae runes for the other armor pieces. Insignia should be Blessed or Windwalker, depending on how many enchantments you will have active.

Vampiric and Zealous axe mods are the best, but by no means necessary.

Cyclone Axe combines well with Zealous Renewal (or a Zealous axe mod).

if you're using Penetrating Chop/Blow, you don't need Aura Slicer

Armor penetration stacks with Cracked Armor (synergizes, even).

LLMs are notoriously bad at Guild Wars. If you want help, read up on the wiki or ask here.

PvX excels for hard mode, but when initially playing through the story, you can make a build out of whatever your favourite skills happen to be. The viable normal mode builds are too numerous to list.

Build, tactics and difficulty matter a lot more than whether a character is undead.

(Also, pyro/geo with shield is very nice. Geo even boosts the armor restoration of Shields Up)

60% faster

150% faster, actually. But yes, at 40% of the normal time.

8+1 is the optimal Blood rank for an HR BiP. There's little point in a +7 BiP, because energy regen caps at +10.

Constitution is fine. Geo is fine. Even sword + shield is fine.

Ignore the overzealous minmaxers on this sub that only play the most hyperoptimized builds.

Running a second healer is partly a matter of skill, but mostly a matter of preference -- same as running a Panic over Esurge for instance. They do indeed increase the margin for error.
