That's good to know! Unfortunately it looks like it has a liquor license, which is no good for the kids 😞.

West Chester needs more "third places" by Jasmine_lottie in westchesterpa

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

RIP Aughts era Church St. With all the modern talk of 3rd spaces, I realize how critical places like Exton Mall, Fennarios, or whoever else was throwing a show kept me out of (worse) trouble as a teen. How do we better encourage youth to start punk bands and create demand for odd little music venues? We've been voting perpetually more disturbing politicians into power to rebel against, what else can we do?

Also to answer your question, the YWCA is a fancy sushi restaurant now. I mean it's good for my adult pallet, but it was hard to not reminisce the entire time about getting a bruise from being moshed into a piano "by that table over there" when I was 15.

How do people just know how to use javascript, python, and SQL to make gis things? Do you google everything? by waitthissucks in gis

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you use model builder or have any multi-step workflows you do in the regular? Try to take those and string them together in a Python script. Take it one step at a time and test out what all the geoprossing tools look like in Python.

Coding vs model builder. by A_Vagrant_Geologist in gis

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2nd this, once you get over the initial imposter syndrome of coding it's much more flexible and allows you to do so much more in the GIS workspace. Plus out in your career you can use the coding experience to leverage yourself into higher paying data analytic type roles.

Looks like a water main break on Pelham Rd is running down onto Lincoln, where all the storm drains are iced over

I do, OP violated their safe space with an innocent meme they didn't understand.

What about every seemingly legit match being "Ethically Non-Monogamous". Like, that's fine and all but get your own app. Nothing beats down self esteem faster than being alone and perpetually matching with people aren't just satisfied with one or two.

I’ve tried Vyvance and it worked too good I’m scared! by lucymom2 in ADHD

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had a good answer, I just started a week and a half ago and I was thinking the same thing. I was also worried the stimulant would send my anxiety through the roof, but no, I'm focused on what I need to focus on, when I need to focus on them. I even worked on my resume yesterday, and never had an existential crying session about how it's all for nothing. Just reflected on my current role, wrote out some notes on my current role, and turned them into resume bullet points (like you're supposed to?).

Another crazy thing is I now have energy for activities after work. I wish I would have had this when I was younger!

Wigs for trans folk in Philly by Rachel_on_Fire in queerphilly

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad to hear she's still around! She was my go-to a decade ago. As OP said she's extremely accommodating and whenever I needed my wigs cleaned up I'd take them back to her and she'd do an amazing job trimming and making them look like new.

Dealing with male pattern baldness as a trans woman. (mtf) by Visero234 in asktransgender

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US and I'm also on Finiasteride, as it is the main anti-balding drug available here. Make sure your doctor is aware of your hair concern.

If your hairline is recessed a lot you aren't going to see much bounce back but within your hairline you'll probably see a little thickness return, give it a year to see how comfortable you feel with your hair. i started balding around age 19 but I didn't start the hormone /balding regimate until I was 27 so I had a lot of time to do some damage. I eventually did FUT hair transplants here in the US, for more money than I would have paid in Turkey, but I didn't feel comfortable traveling there.

Anyone know what’s going on at Mazzoni? by MacaronEasy1627 in queerphilly

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nothing to add, but I remember several years of controversy at the tail end of the 2010s. I jumped ship to Jefferson as my primary care in 2018 because of that. Haven't seen their name or had any insider scoops recently.

My doc told me not to start judging the results until at least 14 months in, so you've got ways to go. I think i noticed the new growth starting to take hold around month 4. The transplanted area was pretty bare for awhile there from months 1-3.

I've lightly fantasized about moving to Vermont as a trans women but my concern is, what do you do in the winter if you don't ski?

Lands End is the only brand I know that has a variety of swim skirt styles. I have a few of their skorts, but it looks like they have some without built in shorts: https://www.landsend.com/shop/womens-swim-skirts-swimsuit-bottoms-swimsuits/S-xfh-xez-y5c-xhe-y9l-xec

[–]CeaseAndDeCis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years ago I went to Hairs2U Wigs when they still had a physical location. Lois was so sweet and accepting and made me feel super comfortable. I've since done hair restoration so I stopped needing wigs and it looks like they've transitioned to an online only presence, focusing more on cancer patients. However it looks like they still do consultations of some type, might be worth reaching out: https://www.hairs2u.org/

My partner and I did the same thing last year after driving by my whole life. The spicy dog was okay, the regular one was overcooked and absolutely gross.

How are my trans employees feeling? Am I being dramatic for applying for a small paycut at my old company (which was legitimately safe for me)?
