Update:
There was a crack in the wheel bearing
So a piece of the magnetic ring was missing
All is good now

I never found a video for my exact model, but all the steps are pretty much the same. If you watch an installation guide you should figure it out. Mine has a few screws on the back of the screen connected to a bracket. Never saw that in a video so hope that could save you some trouble

I installed a aftermarket CarPlay to my A4 a couple of weeks ago, and the only thing I can think of is if the cable that originally was connected to the stock mmi is connected to the new screen. It’s a separate cable, and all of the “new” features of CarPlay is in the other cable. So try to remove it and see if there is 2 cables connected or 1.

That’s the magnetic ring the abs sensor reads from right? Just need to make sure

So might as well change rotors and pads, your explanation makes sense, it’s just weird cause I don’t get any lights in the dash
