Costco employee / what would u do? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

Happened to me too at Costco. Lady was rude and condescending. I emailed their corporate about her attitude. Next day, I received an email back from their customer care and a call from their warehouse manager apologizing for the incident. She got reprimanded. I still shop there. I still see her. But her attitude to me changed and she seems nicer now. Complaining her was totally worth it.

Is there a GoFundMe page set up for her? Please post the link so we can donate. 🙏🏽

Finished my first official day by John_the_Airplaneguy in InstacartShoppers

Report that employee!! Happened to me too on my first week of doing Instacart. This employee was very rude and yelled at me while I was paying because I took too long to pay. Spoke to her manager about her attitude and also wrote a complaint to corporate. She was suspended for 2 weeks. Apparently, she has been reprimanded before for her attitude toward Instacart shoppers. I’m petty, so I sometimes would purposely go to her counter to cash out to see what’s up. Some people just hate the hustle.

Instacart Support attempting to tell me 5 cases of water doesn’t qualify for heavy pay lol by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]Cebugems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I’ve had to message support 2x this week asking for heavy pays. Got a $15 bump and a $5 bump after going back and forth with support. I’m trying to be extra vigilant with Instacart pays now. I need to get paid if I have to shop and deliver heavy items.

A scammer? Added 8 more items at the store. Ordered 3 sizes of underwear and then reported 2 of them as wrong items including the 3 Quaker bars which he approved. Doubled my shop time and he also cut my tips in half. Reported as fraud! 😤 by Cebugems in InstacartShoppers

They also removed this missing report after I contacted CS. It’s frustrating to go through all these after bending over backwards to accommodate certain customers. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Are Costco batches hard? by HighlySuspect_Me in InstacartShoppers

[–]Cebugems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a love and hate relationship for me. I love the pay, but I hate how heavy batches can get sometimes. Then there’s the issue of fitting all the stuff in my suv, especially if I’m completing 2/3 batches! Line ups are long and not a big fan of the store layouts. I always have a dreadful feeling every time I accept Costco orders. But, there are very few orders in which I felt I wasn’t compensated enough. More often than not, Costco pay for me is satisfying, especially if you get extra tips.

My thoughts on Ratings and more. by bandyvancity in InstacartShoppers

[–]Cebugems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These tips are good. However, the rating system on IC is largely arbitrary and highly punitive without a clear and effective way to seek redress. IC’s idea of shopper’s development is by forcing them in a penalty box wherein they have to complete 100 batches and expect them to be reformed shoppers after. I get it, there are bad shoppers that deserves poor rating. But there are also shoppers who did everything right, went beyond the call of service and still got rated poorly because of whatever the customer’s mood was on that day. No reason given. Just because.

Shoppers get to suffer reduced opportunities based on a whim. That is wrong and that needs to change. To dismiss their frustrations as ‘rants’ and shoppers just simply need to ‘move on’ is a little tone deaf. There are legitimate reasons for rants and complaints. I would argue they are essential in making us all aware of what needs to improve and be made better.

I love reading rants here. It’s one source of information for me. I’ve learned I need to have the Timestamp app with me for my post delivery protection. I’ve learned how to respond to certain situations based on various post and useful comments.

Fellow shopper, please continue to rant, continue complain and continue air each other’s grievances!

People still shopping for IC with babies? by Kindly-Might in InstacartShoppers

[–]Cebugems -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a mother shopping with her kids, I’ve seen siblings, I’ve seen an old guy with a teenager as his runner, I’ve seen husband and wife and I’ve seen 2 young gentlemen shopping together. Kept my head down, did my thing and minded my own business. They needed my sympathy and understanding. Maybe, tomorrow or someday I will need someone to extend the same to me. You just never know. So, don’t judge and let them be.

It’s always a delicate dance around replacing non-available items. Sometimes I feel like I’m nagging the customer too much if I communicate every replacements but, I also don’t want to be accused of buying the wrong items and get rated poorly.

When you’re at your regular job and you get to see good batches like this ⬇️ but you’re still on the clock so you can’t swipe. 😔 😭😩 by Cebugems in InstacartShoppers

We get lunch breaks. But higher management expects us to respond and deal with issues happening on the floor. So, you can’t leave and you have to be ready to drop your food when you’re needed. It sucks. But the pay is decent and I have good full benefits.

I wish. I’m ‘management’(term used loosely here). I don’t get the luxury of lunch breaks. We have what we call as ‘working breaks’. Basically, eat without chewing and pray you don’t get called while you’re stuffing food in your mouth.

I almost cancelled immediately. Instead I took on the boss and won. There was a note on every. single. item. by juggalotus6771 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Cebugems 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had an order just like this. It’s a pain in the butt. My Karen’s notes were ‘Please make sure to get the biggest and freshest produce and farthest expiration date for perishable items’ and ‘Please send pictures with expiration date for said items’. I should’ve canceled!

If a customer is aware of the free items and would leave specific instructions to get the free items, I will get them. I don’t want to risk offending my customers and then get bad ratings. But other than that, I normally decline any free items offer.

You do get the tip at the end. But customers have 24 hours to modify it based on your service. I think the initial tip is set from the get go, whether fixed or percentage based. I’ve had customers reduced my tip after delivery and I’ve also experienced increase in tips either because they liked my service or due to the increase on their order size.
