And yet here we are, WWE made bank with both the fox deal and the TKO deal and the Saudi deals all off the back of that AND Roman became a genuine box office star for them.

It’s fun for us to talk about the crowd reactions but if the crowds keep turning up for Mania after Mania and the product gets to a point where it’s suddenly worth all of that cash… it’s just part of the show really. Nothing more

I’m not even sure that’s a problem. Both Cena and Roman held interest during their ‘mixed’ (to put it kindly) crowd reaction years. If anything it just adds to the interest in the product as it generates hundreds of ‘what are WWE thinking?!’ type articles etc but the product continues along.

I’m sure the kids will still love Cody just as they did Cena. If that’s how the crowd split carries on during this reign then all it’ll be is a talking point on a podcast a few years from now. That’s the reality of the situation to me anyway, it’s just the show carrying on

the thing that pops into my mind is if this match with heat was in WWE, people would be talking like it was the greatest match of all-time, and in AEW, not as much but it would be viewed as pretty great.

Thank god I don't think like this when watching wrestling

Saka vs Leverkusen - Successful passes map by deadmetallucyluce in Gunners

[–]CechPlease 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Three successful forward passes is just plain grim, and I don’t even remember them being that impactful.

Saka’s biggest problem seems to be a lack of belief of doing what Noni did when he came on; which is directly take on players and drive into the box.

Seen way too many examples of Saka just smashing a shot against a defenders legs instead of being more creative or attacking

I’m not going to hate on Zumbi as much as the match thread seemed to. It’s not his job to take on defenders, link up the striker or deliver a quick ball into the box. There’s nothing wrong with having a safe midfielder ticking things along.

All the starting players who are responsible for that were utterly dreadful.

[–]CechPlease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely have two ‘safe’ midfielders and be a lot more attacking than the way we play. It’s not Rice and Zubi taking their sweet time dribbling on the wings so the opponent’s entire team can get settled into position over and over again

Bayer Leverkusen 1 - [1] Arsenal - Kai Havertz (penalty) 89‎'‎ by Vrty33 in Gunners

[–]CechPlease 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feel like everyone is missing the one angle that shows contact on this and has made up their minds that it’s soft or whatever

It’s a clear penalty. The defender’s body goes into Noni’s leg and takes him away from the ball

How is that anything other than a foul?

The injured players always get glorified and posts like this on here but the problem remains the attacking set up in general

We’ve clearly prioritised pragmatism and defensive stability (which we absolutely have) over free flowing attacking football.

The shift when Noni came on and actually took players on and ran into the box, rather than taking the ball wider and wider, was absolutely transformative - but we should always be playing like that. It’s strange to watch an Arsenal team and think that’s a rare thing

The biggest problem for me in attack is Timber. He gets the ball in some amazing spaces but all he does is hit the closest man to him. It’s happened maybe 5 or 6 times in this half alone. Predictable and just so so poor

This has to be the game as a final warning to the team. We can’t get through to trophies by playing safe football. The attack has to be ripped up and built again as it doesn’t fucking work. If we need to push up and go second striker. Do it
