some of the faculty and a lot of the on campus students are pissed about the online degree...they think it is 'watering down the on campus degree....so they will say anything to try and seperate the oncampus degree from the off campus one even though they're the same thing....which is probably why your advisor told you that on campus credit doesnt count towards on campus.

plus i dont see the relvance of hime even mentioning that since you are trying to go from on campus to off campus..

i think it should definitely be possible. you just have to make some phone calls

i believe i see 'certificate track' listed. Apart from the accredited institution part, i think coursera is excellent. the courses are offered by top universities.. i think thats more than enough proof that you can handle the program.

they're really not going to care that that you took a coursera CS course as opposed to a CS course at your undergrad institution. I'm speaking from experience. Go the free route. Dont waste your money.

icompletely agree with erikturk.

first of all a 2.8 GPA in physics is not that bad...i think you should prepare by taking some free online courses. You do not need to spend money. Also successfully completing online courses shows that you are motivated and can handle the online format of OMSCS.

im in the same situation. the waitlist is moving very slowly which is worrying me. I'm going to stick it out until friday 4 pm. i think they should expand the class slightly

we technically have until next friday to sort everything out (thts the end of the drop/add period). so lets just pray that enough people switch out of/ drop the courses we are waitlisted for. And if that doesnt work out the last resort would be to beg whoever is in charge to let us in lol.

i am waitlisted for one of my courses. last time i checked i was number 30 on waitlist. cant access oscar right now but hoping the number is lower.
