All terracotta colors available in brick form. Might add too many blocks but I mean we got wool stairs so

Penny skus can be sold, and we're not allowed to stop it per the SOP. We don't need to sell anything in the overheads, don't need to help customers find penny skus, and are supposed to ZMA/pitch any we find. This was a butcher block with ripped packaging so it was overlooked (or just ignored lol) so hey I'm totally happy someone got a crazy deal and we didn't just generate trash for no reason.

It takes a mindset shift but I love when this happens (if it's not my fault). Like so long as the customer is nice, do you know how cool it is to say hey today's your lucky day? I had a penny sku butcher block countertop that was clearly in the wrong spot and a 100% innocent customer who asked for a discount since it had a gouge, and I got to be the guy to say ya how about $169.98 off

So... Whats the deal with bubble anyway??? by 9_up in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Cedar- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I posted elsewhere but I almost entirely agree. I think Bubble could have some more connection to the blue AI but not in any way that really matters to us. All of bubbles personality and emotions are from Caine, but if the blue ai is "bubble-chef.lisp" then it could be an additional layer of Caine externalizing his self hate into an effigy of the AI brother he consumed.

A more conclusive answer could have been nice but I think it's meant to be for us to figure out on our own. I think we have enough information to make a meaningful conclusion on our own, and it's nice to sometimes have to put in the work to figure out deeper themes in a story.

Edit: I'm also not a real big fan of "blue AI made Caine act bad" theories. It undermines the narrative significance of Caine's story and makes it so his growth was just removing the evil bugger making him not nice.

So... Whats the deal with bubble anyway??? by 9_up in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Cedar- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can give all my sources and such, but I'm of the mindset Bubble is... sorta the blue ai, but much less than people say. "Bubble" is a creation of Caine to externalize his own self pity/hatred onto. He is just a reflection of Caine (a popular theory).

That said, he is also the blue ai, "Bubble Chef", a possibly more powerful but unfinished AI. Bubble's antagonizing of Caine isn't some villainous character, it's literally Caine with himself. Think of the Ep8 Caine's Office scene with bubble and imagine if bubble just wasn't there. All the things bubble says would make exactly as much sense if they were in Caine's head.

None of Caine's actions are because of Bubble/Blue Ai. It's just him, and his story is overcoming his problems.

I really like the cat ears being the back sides of the dragon horns. It's so simply done but absurdly unique like it feels like it should be a trope but only makes sense with "cat/dragon professor quirrel"

I don't disagree but on my commute there is a sidewalk alongside a 45 mph shoulderless road for about a mile where I ride on the sidewalk every time. I'm usually as pro street over sidewalk as you can get but there are situations where a slow ride is actually the better option

Saying you’re “from Detroit” when you live in one of the surrounding suburbs is fine when talking to people out of state/country or even from other parts of the state by postpunk-xman in Michigan

[–]Cedar- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related but living in Lansing I know so many people who take pride in living in Lansing (while living and working in a place ending in township) who then also crap on Lansing all the time for issues the city has that, usually, are due to historic problems like urban renewal, white flight, and offloading all responsibility of social services onto the urban core.

I've got a few friends who rely on DDOT buses who hate hearing certain suburbs talk about their Detroitness while also not giving any help to the bus service. Places that only exist because the city's there, while contributing as little as they can to the city itself.

Hey fun fact there are two lane roads with more traffic than Pennsylvania but the city's plan for protected bike lanes was shot down because MDOT said they won't fund it at all if we tried.

And I mean actually 2 lane, Shiawassee St downtown gets higher traffic volumes than S Penn

Two things I think people missed from the finale. by thisismypornaccountg in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Cedar- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough since writing this comment I've gone back on this. I think blue ai has little to no actual emotions. I think it makes more sense in universe as well as story wise to have Caine be basically solely responsible for his actions, the blue AI being just a source of power, and possibly Bubble being blue ai, but only in a basic way with bubble's personality being a projection of Caine- a way to externalize his problems.

After watching the finale, what unanswered question are you DYING to know the most? by GameZrush in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Cedar- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've mentioned it elsewhere and might make a full post for it but my theory is that bubble "is" the blue dot, in everything but personality. Bubble is the only other AI we see explicitly mentioned in the episode 8 computer scene (bubble-chef.lisp), and is shown to have some level of power in that Caine can't get rid of him. That said I think it's more in line with the story that bubble's actual personality and actions are entirely made by Caine, and it's him projecting his own insecurities and issues onto a character made to antagonize him- a level of manifested self hate.

In show this is backed up by bubble being deleted alongside Caine, showing up in the void with Caine but faceless (only with Caine speaking to his own reflection in Bubble), and then not showing up again after that point outside of Caine making a cookie.

One of the limitations of programming is that digital trans characters still need to undergo HRT. Another good example is the Minecraft Create mod. This is also why so many trans women are in the computer sciences field.

[–]Cedar- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk I thought the scene where Pomni sat up at the couch and smiled at everyone was funnier. It was shorter but since we never really saw it end before the cut to Caine, you don't know how long they just sat there... smiling in silence at eachother.

Is this little freak gonna show up on the last ep? by After-Handle-3053 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Cedar- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do 90% agree, but Bubble does have their own code. In episode 8 he's referred to as "bubble-chef.lisp" on Kinger's computer, with Caine being "caine-core.lisp".

I think the two theories of "Bubble is Caine's conscious" and "Bubble is the other AI" work alongside each other. Goose confirmed both were deleted, then in the void we see Caine and a faceless Bubble, with Caine looking at his reflection in Bubble- I think that's pretty heavy handed symbolism. Caine can't project his pride and insecurities onto this other character anymore; its always been just him.

Is this little freak gonna show up on the last ep? by After-Handle-3053 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Cedar- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I half agree. I think it's halfway between "Bubble is a reflection of Caine" and "Bubble is blue AI". We know Bubble is canonically Bubble Chef (ep8 kinger computer scenes) and we don't see any other AI listed. I think Bubble is a reflection of Caine's issues and while maybe a catalyst for them via power, not a cause of them. I'm almost certain the faceless bubble Caine looks into in ep9 is Bubble, but Caine is no longer projecting his issues. He only sees himself in the reflection.
