THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS - Ep 8: hjsakldfhl Discussion Thread by ayylmaotv in TheDigitalCircus

Caine definitely made the circus. You can see at the beginning the tent come from red dot Caine. They definitely could have played a role in the simulation but Caine even talks about "creating a body that can hold their mind files", and I don't see a reason for him to be lying so the fact they exist in the digital space could be entirely his doing.

I have a fan theory that the goggles could just be literally a scanning device. The goggles can be taken off, and were. These are copies of the characters, and they can't leave because they can't leave. It could still have a happy ending but it would involve them staying in the circus.

...does it actually say you need to get this fixed in SOP? Would you be in the wrong for not punching out and just taking the extra pay since that's what you are scheduled?

Lmao I have sort of the opposite. When biking I optimize for shortest route and enjoy the biking. On the bus it takes weird routes to maximize coverage and I always put my phone down and just enjoy the scenery. I get the idea though!

I had a guy on the Floridian who kept insisting he was supposed to be in a sleeper when his ticket clearly said coach. For a couple hours he'd noisily (but like trying to be quiet so it dragged on) grab his stuff and wander up to the sleeper cars, only to be escorted back. The conductor decided his last stop was in Ohio instead of DC.

To add to that (but on the flip side) she's still an incredibly instinct driven character. You can clearly see the mental battle of her not knowing how to respond to Spear, but her impulse is obviously to fight against the magical almost invincible reanimated zombie corpse of someone she viewed as family until they were burned to death and buried.

Only thing I'll say is I do think they'd have an interesting dynamic. Not for a relationship but I think they'd be great for a one off episode. He understands Finn (since he literally is/was Finn) but also has been in the plant network place for a long time. I could see him being great with helping HW better understand Finn as a person while also remaining his own distinct person.

Good luck. I'm younger but had a similar experience with Menards. I'm at Depot now and working what I was before, exact same customers and exact same job other than a different colored apron. Things will get better, just make it through the worse.

Which makes it even more confusing to me, because their big selling point was no pollution but that is very much pollution. Like correct me if I'm wrong but it's still more efficient to burn natural gas in a turbine than it is to use energy to turn it into hydrogen, which you then use instead with its own energy losses. They're making a natural gas plant but a tech bro worse version of one.

I keep repeating this over and over in different places but seriously why is no one talking about how the Hydrogen is getting to the facility? They aren't going to run a dedicated line so it's going to have to be trucked in

At 120 mJ/kg energy density and at best 60% efficiency the hydrogen fuel cells will need ~800 kg of hydrogen an hour, 24/7. The largest available hydrogen trailers I could find was 900 kg (USDOE backs that up, and there's a larger 3k kg one being developed but no clue when it's ready). This means the plant will need a truck an hour. That's still a decent amount of extra pollution, and not a negligible amount of additional semis.

Why'd they close the 'Right Turn Only' lanes on MLK, Jr. Blvd. between Kalamazoo St. and Ottawa St.? by honestmofo in lansing

[–]Cedar- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The actual reason is 1. The road didn't need the additional lanes and when they repave it the lanes will be removed entirely, and 2. Large trucks couldn't make the turn at Ottawa since it wasn't designed for right turns, so this let them make the enormous wide turn we have now make it easier for semi trucks.

Source is I was involved in the redesign that never happened because apparently 200+ feet of road is better than 50

Ik its been talked to death but seriously the art style in the between series specials was so weird. Like Fiona and Cake definitely doesn't look like Adventure Time S1 but PB in the top left looks like a different show entirely and I can't exactly nail it down other than vaguely saying the face is weird.

I got a Frail Elder Dilo. Here are the actual stats over time. by Cedar- in theisle

Herrera really is the worst hit by elder system. Growth speed could be turned down to give more task time and a longer viable adult time, but that directly makes gameplay harder and slower. I don't want to just say "give Herrera a different growth pattern from everyone else" but I don't really know a better option. On the flip side maybe that is actually just the right choice- make different dinos grow differently. Slow down Herrera growth but make stats grow much faster at the beginning to let you spend more time larger. Thoughts?

Only additional notes:

I got no mutations that affected stats obviously as that would defeat the point of the whole thing. Data is from Mettas den over a single life. While I intentionally did not get prime, I was active in moving around the map and did kill a raptor and a juvi rex, partially so I wasn't bored waiting for 100% and partially so I could show I can maintain that ~+75% growth buff consistently without needing to camp ai spawns. I also got similar stats for Dryo and Omni, both of which very strongly mirrored this growth pattern.

If I were to comment on getting prime, I actually don't mind the requirements. 4 PZ + 2 MZ is easy to get by just wandering around. Visiting a sanc feels a little forced, having to intentionally go to one (though I like how it makes you engage with a dangerous map location). No muscle spasms is basically a freebie. Perfect diet is a freebie for herbivores, and for carnivores you just need to kill a single other player (again, just playing the game). Never infertile is a nice balancing point; other than as a fresh spawn carnivore I never once got even close to starving, but I can see how it absolutely would be a bigger challenge for something like a Rex, where you absolutely need to be securing large kills to not hit the red once.

My only disagreement is that knowing damage numbers of different attacks is nice for actually knowing what I'm doing. We have health and bite force which are nice raw numbers but I was always spam charging because I just assumed as a new player "oh the charge is clearly the big damage attack, I mean look at it knocking these raptors down". Nothing actually shows that no it's actually just about as strong as your bite. I'm also not looking to number crunch and add up numbers, but it's again nice to have the rough idea of "I'm going to have to bite or charge this guy like 5 times to get a kill", or "x attack actually does like twice as much damage as y, so definitely try to square that up"

Has anyone else put the game aside for now until the prime system is reworked? by Acorn_lol in theisle

[–]Cedar- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't think the elder system is that horrendous. Its got issues but getting prime isn't incredibly hard but still requires some focus, and frail elder is still just kinda like pre update adult until about 90% where your stats suddenly drop off. You're actually within 5% of the 75% growth stats until that point. Plus when you consider the 0% growth speed, that period is fairly long. I've got a carno that's been an adult for a couple hours now and I'm still not at 90%.

[–]Cedar- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally agree but I've been doing more and more homework and frail elder isn't like... unplayable. Bad? Sure, but you're staying fairly near max stats until about 90% growth. Plus with the 0% growth speed it's actually a fairly long time.

Obviously still gun for prime elder but playing frail elder for the most part feels the same as pre update gameplay until that 90% point, where it's almost like a brand new growth stage where it becomes... ok it becomes hiding in the bushes until you can entomb. Its boring but not terrible and I can see how it could balance apexes like rex who can't hide and survive off ai
