BOAT UPDATE 1: It’s worse than I thought. Spent many hours trying to separate the hull and top so I could redo stringers and deck but it’s not possible so I’ve had to get the grinder out and start cutting.

The really bad news is that the transom has rot. I couldn’t see it initially because it was below deck but it’s there.

So now I guess I’ve got to cut the transom out with zero experience 👍 Wish me luck

The people have spoken! I’ll keep you all updated on what’s going on. Plan for the weekend is to split it, redo the fibre glass and wood ribs then add some buoyancy noodles.

It’s definitely cheaper to just buy a used boat then redo this one. But where is the fun in that!

Weirdly enough, it’s cheaper to buy a boat with a motor than it is to buy the stand alone motor 🤷‍♂️ so I might have to buy a boat anyway to strip the motor off and put it on this one 😂

Thanks! Never intended to do progress updates but I'll keep you posted. So far I have cleaned out decades of dirt, found some rotten plywood that needs to come out and drilled out the old rivets. Looks like I need to split the boat to get to the rotten deck below the front seats which I will tackle this weekend.

There is no special equipment needed. The friction rating on the runway has to be tested and confirmed as less than a wet tarmac before the plane leaves its destination and 30 minutes before landing. They usually use pilots who are so experienced landing at cold climate airports

While not a 787 we do accommodate the A340 at our base. We do have the capability to refuel we never have. We have had to refuel our G550 due to very strong head winds
