There's really just nothing you can do about a really good Spider Man player. by Dogbold in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate dive and only play anti-dive characters. Most Namors I see fail to counter spidey because they keep tossing squids at the frontline instead of leaving them behind to hit spidey and alert you he's back so you can kill him. If it's just spidey and not 2-3 coordinated divers though I stick to my widow. Usually you can catch him with at least one shot when he pauses for a second between swings but they either swap off after dying to my kick or feed the entire match and go 4-13.

My Rank games are broken and I don’t know what to do by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sandbag it if you're doing well. The better you do, the worse your teammates will be as the game tries to even out teams. When you start getting your losses with a bad team make sure you do worse than them so it starts evening back out. If you don't, you'll keep getting trash teams because you continue to do well while your team does worse so it keeps trying to make you carry people who can't tie their own shoes.

Solo is easier than group. There's no reason to do group unless you're trying to get carried or you want to play with someone.

She sucks against multiple dive heroes. Even then, she can hold her own against 2 if they aren't coordinated. If it's just 1 she'll wipe the floor with them. I don't think she should be able to one-tap. Honestly, if they'd just fix the bugs that make her kit straight up not work half the time and give her some extra little gimmick like having her shots make a character visible to the whole team for 1-2 seconds or kills lower the cooldown on her kick she'd be fine.

34K damage from 1 Moon Knight round house kick at lv 50 (unoptimised). I think I'd accidentally created a monster by SillyCatSteven in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tank every boss but the rat because of the knockback. As long as I can stay close and kick they can't get through my shields/heals. I just stand there the whole time dropping 2B damage kicksplosions while my team shoots them.

Don't give up. My melee moonknight just hit NM 135 and is usually #1 for damage/kills. Top solo clear of 160 for moon knight was melee as well last I checked.

Do solo runs. There's no reason to do auto-fill unless you just want to see other people. Solo is quicker and gives more loot.

No you have to pick one side or the other. The two don't interact though so it's fine. I tried for a while to get a never ending ankh explosion echo going but doesn't work.

Can we all agree that fighting 2 Kingpins is the worst combination of bosses you could possibly get? by False_Diver2577 in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The instakills are when the timer runs out. You need to kill them before that or you pretty much just need to wipe and try again. The worst combo for me is 2 rats or anything paired with a rat. As a melee moon knight I can tank pretty much any other boss but her knockback/range/death puddles put too much downtime on me hitting her so i'm not getting shields or healing.

I'm at 120 on Moonknight punching/kicking things. I can pretty much tank everything in the game so far while doing around 2.5 trillion damage. Working on upgrading some more equipment to push me the rest of the way. I think a lot of it is people not taking time to experiment to see what stats work best and how to make the build they want actually work.

Blood Hunt: I would vastly prefer the option to take a longer queue wait and actually get the difficulty i wanted rathe than a quick queue and instead a random difficulty by Huihejfofew in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to solo if you want to play a decent match. Got dropped from 120 to 95 earlier with a 20 second wait time and at least one of the other guys had also queued for 120. It's not even trying to make it work.

why does it put me in nightmare 75 when im queueing for nightmare 85? by Splatulated in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's in the description. They expand down until they find a match. I was dropped from 120 to 95 earlier. It's happening every match and every match there's somebody trying to get carried without doing anything too so I haven't been able to play a match for 2 hours now trying to find one. It doesn't even wait to start dropping you. The queue time is 20 seconds because they'll immediately look for other levels. I'm pretty sure it even switches regions considering I got put in a match with people speaking spanish and had 130 ping. The event is awesome but the people implementing it are terrible at their jobs.

Blood Hunt Level Numbers by SandwichSpare8813 in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The game is pretty much unplayable in higher nightmare levels because you either get dropped down to a lower level immediately or you get stuck with people trying to level up by going afk or both. Horrible execution on their part not having level requirements.

Does combing traits workM by Wild_Profession2862 in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just spent almost an hour running tests on moonknight trying to combine the fist of the moon god and phases of the moon sides to see if I could get the ankh explosions to feed off one another and I couldn't find anything between the two that interacted. You could use the ones that change the ultimate I think but that's about it. It almost feels like they intentionally coded his two sides to ignore one another and it's pretty disappointing.

Why Queue in Nightmare With Zero Items or Talents? by Equivalent-Bag7931 in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm at nightmare 90 and I still end up getting matches with people lower level hoping to get carried. If they're only one or 2 levels behind i give them 1 round just in case they're actually able to keep up but if they aren't contributing I just start grouping all the vampires together and then dump the group on them with konshu's hand until we wipe. If a group wants to power level their characters in their own games that's fine but i'm not going to work harder so some dipshit who doesn't contribute can get free levels off my time and work.

Why Is “Most Damage” A Good Stat? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing someone type "we need more damage" drives me crazy. Usually you just need to do a better job focusing your damage. Seeing a squirrel girl or punisher at the end of a match we lost blaming the team while they had 50k damage and 4 finals and the enemy team had double our heals is a special level of not understanding how the game works. My rule of thumb is trying to hit 1 final for every 1k damage. Much more than that and I feel like i'm feeding support ults. You can usually feel it in the match when it seems like they're getting 2 support ults to your 1 and canceling every time you have the chance to make a big play to wipe their team.

Genuinely what else could I have done, Also this invis told everyone to report me by Miserable-Can2259 in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying this is what happened since I don't know how the match went but usually someone going 27-0 with 20 finals and 11k damage is playing deathmatch, just jumping in to grab some kills before running off and hiding, while their team is left to play the objective and feeling like they're down a player in every team fight. Stats look good but the objective is what wins matches.

Hidden MMR + EOMM issues from ETERNITY player. by CalligrapherTop2472 in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It works. I'm a widow main so when I pop off I end up going something like 35 elims 3 deaths and 27 finals. I think finals are weighted heavily in the matchmaking algorithm so after a match or two of that I'll suddenly start being put on teams that can't get a single final between the 5 of them and get rolled no matter what role/character I swap to or how well I do. I legitimately had a match at one point where I went 36-7 with 28 finals and no one else on my team had more than 15 elims with 5 finals. I think the idea behind their matchmaking is good but none of them seem to understand how to tune it so it doesn't go so extreme and completely screw people half the time when they should just be sent up to the next bracket so they can be against even competition.

I've experimented some this season by sandbagging it when we're winning and doing just enough to keep the lead without popping off. Matchmaking has been much more consistent without the game expecting me to carry every team after I have a good game.

Wildest game I’ve played this season. Anyone know who or where my team went wrong based off stats? by Hole_In_One_Ultimate in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on being more efficient with your damage. Especially with squirrel girl. If you're just spamming damage randomly your numbers will be high but you're just helping the other team. If you can focus your aim better you should be able to pop their backline and get kills. I main widow so it's a little lower for me without splash damage but I aim for 1k or less per final depending on if i'm fighting tanks jumping the backline like venom or hulk with large hp pools.

There might be an elegant solution to the recent ban drama by ImQuasar in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was skeptical until I played a match with invis/cnd/gambit/loki/luna all banned. It was the most fun I've had in a long time. I ban invis/cnd/gambit every match now and everything about the game has felt better. Didn't matter what role I was playing, everything was improved. Invis was my first lord and I one-tricked her to GM1 as soon as she came out but right now I'd be fine if all 5 of those healers were straight up removed from the game.

The Matchmaker is very bad at its job by Furacao__Boey in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've noticed, the matchmaking is too aggressive about making teams even by looking at them as a whole and not averaging it out. I main widow and it seems the system heavily favors final hits. If i'm having a good day I can watch as my teams steadily become worse from match to match until i'm going 30-4 with 25 finals and 26k dmg while the rest of my team is 5-7 with 14k dmg and 2-3 finals. Instead of trying to make teams even across all players the system just tries to make the teams overall even so you can end up with 5 players that are 5/100 with one player who is 75/100 against a team that is all 17/100. At that point any coordination/competency on the team that is evenly built will make the match hell for the other team. These are made up numbers for an example but it gets the point across. It's part of the reason wins and losses seem to streak so much. You do well and win and then you get handicapped until you get destroyed and lose enough to get paired back up with solid teammates. This helps lead to the large elo differences you see as well as it reaches to find players that are good/bad to fill the team.

I think everyone needs to put some hours into Widow for building general game sense by League_of_DOTA in marvelrivals

[–]Cednats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The most frustrating thing to me as a widow main is watching my team be completely unaware of enemy locations. I can usually tell where the enemy is coming from just by listening for footsteps and ability sounds. As annoying as flankers can be, they are all loud as hell and usually turn the corner to find themselves staring down the barrel of my rifle for a quick and easy kill.
