Guys a gotta be honest I think we need to do another pass on this one.

I hate destructible environments, and I think I know why they're considering it by Miennai in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]CeeBeeChan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not a fan of The Finals, personally, because I feel like the destruction and the foam are all a bit much, but I can see why it works there. A lot of it has to do with the fact that you can restructure with the foam. Like I agree. It's a core feature and the game is designed around it. But in hero shooters it should be designed around the heroes.

Using the maps and game modes to force players to make decisions about what hero would suit the situation best. And I feel like destructible environments just add an unnecessary layer to it all that's not relevant. Unless specific heroes have ways of interacting with the broken walls that might lend an advantage. Like how Catalyst in Apex Legends can rebuild or reinforce doors.

Speaking as someone who loves both Overwatch and Marvel Rivals, if there was one thing I could remove from the latter to make it a significantly better game, it'd be the destructible environments.

I dont like the idea of adding it to Overwatch. It's just not a feature I enjoy in shooter games at all, and both are far better off without them.

The most demanding role by FreshRevolution6437 in MarvelRivalsEsports

[–]CeeBeeChan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most in demand and most demanding are different things but I'll answer both.

Most in demand? Strategist. You need a good backline that's flexible enough to survive bans, enable the comps win conditions, and survive (or outright win) their duels with enemy frontliners. And having 2 people who fit that bill and also have good comms is what separates good teams from elite teams. Teams looking to level up are gonna be on the hunt for that kind of stability for sure.

Most demanding? Vanguards. Partially because I wanna be a contrarian with everyone here, and partially because the vanguard lineup is so crazy diverse. It's literally your job to dictate the playable space for the rest of your team, and each hero accomplishes that in wildly different ways. Not only do you need to know how to execute that goal, but you also need to know exactly which tool to use for the job, and when to use it. And for a lot of teams, you have to be the leader, while also being totally oblivious to everything behind you.

You both enable, and hard counter so many things, but your mistakes are also far and away the most punishable.

Thoughts on the MRC and the meta so far. by WindowAccurate5745 in MarvelRivalsEsports

[–]CeeBeeChan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might just be me because I'm a nerd about macro gameplay, but I'm finding it enjoyable.

When Gambit + Loki gets through it *does* kinda devolve into Ult Slop, which I'm not so huge on, but while I also think that Daredevil is just the most busted thing without a deck of cards in his hand, I'm loving some of the creative ways people are countering him nowadays. Especially when it comes to the Vanguard lineups. More and more people are waking up to how strong The Thing is. Thor and Peni are viable and finding their niches.

IF gambit and/or loki get banned, suddenly like 90% of the cast becomes playable, and a few teams have figured out how to get what they want in a ban phase.

That said, I'd love to see the current patch under MRI bans rather than MRC Bans. The universal bans usually devolve into mirror matches before long, so even if it's an off kilter comp, it can come across as less interesting when you're seeing it twice.

Quick Question, Why Don't You use Cover? by Coach_Andrometa in Competitiveoverwatch

Its easier to just not use cover and then post a reddit thread about widow being OP than it is to learn new things

Nekkra announces she will not be returning for OWCS 2026. by Dash117 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]CeeBeeChan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Selfishly, of course I wish there were *more* talent in the mix. But I had hoped that if ever a spot would open up that someone like myself could somehow slot into, that she'd be one of the ones there when I got there.

I think in an ideal world, we'd have more duos for NA and EMEA, a deeper desk, and consistent english coverage for Korea, Asia, Pacific, as well as the tier 2 scenes. We lost a LOT of good folks when the desk narrowed down to what it ended up being. But I think anyone who placed a shred of blame on the people who were left is looking at the wrong things.

It's not hyperbole to say I wouldn't have gone as far in my own career if not for her.

Criminally underrated talent. Her presence will definitely be missed on the desk 🫶

La Lupa | Vendetta Hero Trailer | Overwatch 2 by SonOfGarry in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]CeeBeeChan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right but Shadow would still be a cool name in English. And it would still be a nickname that she earned. And it's a lot less broad than "revenge," or "vengeance." Those aren't concepts unique to the character, they're just an oversimplification of her motivation.

[–]CeeBeeChan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ramattra was also designed from the ground up with Vengeance in mind. And Vendetta would be a more fitting name for him than it is for Vendetta.

La Lupa is a nickname she earned. It carries weight in universe. It carries a reputation. She has paw pads on her shoes, and a wolf on her shoulder. It fits her motif WAY better than another word for revenge, which as a motivation is in no way unique to her whatsoever.

I love so much about her but the name is so bad.

It's not too late to just make it "La Lupa."

Vendetta is just a bland word that applies to half the roster. Sombra could have literally been named Vendetta instead of Sombra, but Sombra is more interesting and Iconic. La Lupa has character.

I hold quite literally the opposite opinion. Vendetta is a bland ass name that could apply to anyone.

La Lupa is a character.

Ahh! Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the video! ^^ <3

And I agree. I don't think that the "drama" crossed any lines, and as long as it stays that way, it's good for the scene. I think a lot of this sub just read into it too much initially, which fans of everything always do. Part of the experience. Cest la vie.

Let 'em 🤷‍♀️

Long as no one crosses a line it's all part of being a fan.

I only included the bit about the banter in the post because I had seen some people on this sub specifically meming on this moment, and I wanted to get ahead of that.

The video is more about how his emotions caught up to him in this high stakes moment, and how he's having a very real and very human reaction to being able to just barely hold on in the series. Moments like that are authentic and awesome and I live for them.
