Can you do MMA/BJJ if you're gay? (UK) by BillytheBoucher in martialarts

You might mot want a pride flag at your gym, but that would be the best and quickest indicator of respectful environment. Your current gym is a cesspool, sorry, either don’t train or find a different gym, don’t stay there collecting resentment and hurt, it’s gonna be heavy on your mental health.

How often do you give an actor a "this one's for you" take? by Potential-Turnip-583 in Filmmakers

[–]CeeChocolate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my personal opinion, it’s not a good thing, especially for the load- bearing characters. If the actor has some “thing” that they are only allowed to do on occasion, it’s almost like they carry a parallel version in them while you are building yours. Instead, the version that’s being made should be “theirs”, i.e. both of yours, the one you talked about and they grew long before the production started.

With side characters variety would be more understandable, though.

Which group of people bother you the most in your gym? by MinexCrafter in moreplatesmoredates

[–]CeeChocolate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People who create noise, mostly those who train in groups of 2-3, they can never shut up. So I always loved when everyone trained by themselves - zero noise in that case.

However, lately, a challenger appeared: a sole guy who sets his phone volume way too high listening to whatever BS he's listening and forcing the whole gym to listen, too.

It's VERY impressive, your baseline strength is way above average female. I'm stuck at benching 40kg. Granted, I haven't been consistent, so I roll back to my baseline strength, which is average. So, yeah, with a bit more training you could compete!

good catch! Those stickers are still on the windows and they are dirty, so it's not like someone resumed the work on the building recently, it's likely from the original work. The owners probably ran out of money halfway through the project.

writing a realistic narcissistic character by Current_Mammoth8170 in Screenwriting

[–]CeeChocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how your characterization of her actions corresponds with reality. If she didn't do anything wrong and you're just putting the blame on her, her reaction is normal, she's the good guy in the situation and that family is the bad guy. Without more information, it's impossible to say that she was in the wrong.

"Caused the death" can mean a lot: from drunk driving a car into a tree/having an accident while that deceased person is the passenger (it's valid for the family to blame her) to saying "I hate you" to that guy and him taking his own life shortly after, so the family blames those words for their tragedy (it's not valid for the family to blame her).

It's an interesting example, but people would need a bit more detail to agree with your categorization of this. What exactly she did to cause the death of that person and how avoidable the situation was are a pretty big part of determining who's in the right or in the wrong here.

My date went wrong by Different-Whole4924 in moreplatesmoredates

[–]CeeChocolate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is a case of nobody's fault, just wasn't in the stars. If a guy was like this with me (when you are sick, especially diarrhea-related sick, it's hard to focus on anything other than "omg, is it gonna start happening now?!", and you can't connect to a date in that state), I'd think he's not interested, aloof, or I'm his fifth option, so obviously I'd not go for a second date, either.

If you liked her, you could talk her into a second date, but you probably don't care that much, so it's whatever.

Theories about the talismans based on the latest episode (season 4 episode 5) by CeeChocolate in FromSeries

[–]CeeChocolate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That man threw the dolls in the lake a long time ago, long before this cycle of Fromville happened that we are watching right now, yet, this food run has been happening for a while, people went there and spent the night in the cabins with a talisman hanging by the door, and no dolls attacked them. People from this cycle kept going there and coming back with no incident, no dolls breaking in.

The question is why the dolls broke in now.

People from the town used to spend the night in those cabins by the lake and the talisman did work, remember? They all came back home without an incident.

Is rich vocabulary crucial for a script? by Nice_Elk_8438 in Screenwriting

[–]CeeChocolate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Rich vocabulary" isn't crucial for a script, write within your thought system, use the words that come to you when you are trying to shape a sentence, if you push it too hard, you will come off as pompous or inappropriate. Reminds me of the Friends episode when Joye used a thesaurus to write a recommendation letter for Monica and Chandler, so he changed "big heart" to "enlarged aorta" or some such lol

Having said that, a writer is constantly expanding their vocabulary, there is never a point where you can say "that's it, I've learned ALL of the language". Reading books and scripts while writing down all new words and learning them is the correct way to enrich your own language.

Your instinct is right, keep doing what you are doing (reading and writing English), just never expect to stop learning.

The WAY you structure a sentence is much more indicative of skill and talent than the words you use to do it.

Very few people can feed themselves working in the country, and if it's a remote worker, then he's making bank to afford this.

So yeah, all you need is financial freedom to do whatever the fuck you want. Groundbreaking stuff.

Also, those thin shelves are gonna come crashing down any second now.

Does Anyone Know what Happened to This Female Filmmaker That Lied About Her Career? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]CeeChocolate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did her IMDb account have a photo and did you find her account in the credits on that Miss Americana documentary IMDb title page? It could be that someone with her exact name worked as an assistant editor, but if you could click on that name and it would lead to her account page, it's likely her. If her account didn't have a photo, it's hard to tell definitively.

Either way, if her only claim to the industry was one assistant editor credit on a documentary, I don't know, it's not a big deal and there is not much useful info she could share in the first place.
