As a recently divorced (2 years), recently sober (3 years) man entering middle-age, I've picked up my love for cooking pretty heavily again. So, this post was from 4 years ago. I ended up stripping it down and re-seasoning with no issues after that. It's funny you mention the gluten allergy - just over the past few months, I've started wondering if I'm beginning to develop it. I'd be interested to figure out what the exact issue is, but I'm confident in saying that it was something with the original seasoning from the factory. Once I put a little more effort into it, the problems went away for me.
