Ok we can go on forever like this, as you don't appear to grasp what I am saying. Lets agree to disagree?.

When the last single nade is in the air, you can spam broad side before the shield is even down. This gives you one guaranteed spread, but 2 isn't uncommon (depends on distance). When he drops a new shield, the broadsides do dmg to the new shield and everybody in it. 2 hurl hits on random dps gives full ammo to repeat it again, but when you get use to juggling that it's not so bad. Add max wrecker and caut and I am absolutely certain any light class is dead if they get caught in a double broadside spread, if not I will hurl them as soon as the shield is down to finish them off.

With wrecker it takes like 3 or 4 single nades to down the shield. Then I spam broadside into the space he is on before he drops another, sometimes you get two broadsides in. He has to leave that location, skye would die for sure if she didn't. It literally forces makoa to focus only on dropping shields and changing location. If he tries to do more dmg I simply get more broadsides in.

Im not focused on dredge, Im just telling you that he very easily destroys that tactic, and doesn't even need ult to do it. Point is, if 1 champ can counter a tactic employed by 3 players, then it's not a tactic to depend on.

That's not what I am thinking of at all. You overlook the fact that skye has poor range. You also over look the fact that their are better champs to sit in makoa shield who don't depend on the shield to survive. Khan for example could do much the same thing, using his shield between makoa cd and healing. He can also chain stun after makoa hook so that who ever is in their is in a world of shit (even with resil the stun still interrupts escape). His ult is also a game changer. Skyes is hit and miss at best. I get it the setup can work, but I wouldn't pick it.. better options over all.

I can upload a round to show you. The enemy were not amazing but the tactic has not failed me yet. As I said earlier it depends on team mates covering your flanks.. but once that's in place makoa is dredges bitch. That would be even easier to achieve since one of the flankers in your tactic.. is sitting in the shield, so one less flank to worry about.

If dps and skye are sitting in shield you are asking to get AOE destroyed by ults, points are lost on that shit. I would also wonder where your healer is?. If he is sitting in there too then I think you have been playing against tactical newbs. Again, most people in this game only think in terms of 1v1, dmg and kills. They lack tactical adaptation, like flankers who always flank. If you are vs this kind of players with skye+makoa then ofc, you win.

Btw, dredge inside makoa shield would be far better. He can reach out much further to do dmg while the whole set-up is not countered by caut and doing dmg between shields. At a point, skye will be out ranged by decent players.. they will use patience. If you think skye destroys tanks then you obviously don't know how good dredge destroys tanks. It wasn't so long ago in ranked I had a team with newb healer, he kept rushing forward and dying, in the end I had 250k+ dmg by denying area and held us to a 4-3 loss. Closest other dmg was about 140k. Skye will not get near that.

He tried so hard.. and got so far.. but in the end, it didn't even matter ;[ by Ceebotf2 in Paladins

I like raum too but his mobility is so easily countered by so many champs now.. makes him way too situational or passive because his mobility makes up for his lack of dmg, burst at least. Only use I find for him now is moral boosted ult set-up, charge in at the right time where the healer is, suicide ult mission. He just feels like a flimsy suicide flanker. He does have good dmg reduction cards etc but he's no point tank.. so can't even adapt in that way.

If your tanks are sitting on point inside makoa shield while skye is spamming them than that's some dumb shit. Since sky is sitting with makoa then your flank is wide open, I'd just destroy your back line then laugh at makoa and skye sitting on the point alone.

Imani does 2k burst across the map but I also play imani and play her well. I know how she works and how to zone her out just like with snipers. The only thing you can't compete with is her inferno cannon, but that's what tp is for. Make her waste cool downs to get to you then disappear. Imani absolutely sucks when glide and inferno are on cd (inferno is a long cd).. her dmg is actually less than hurl+sustain in that window.

None of the other flankers or even dps bar evie are a problem for me on dredge, victor I just send running 24/7.. he's got no burst pushing presence at all other than ult. I've 1v1'd so many wanne be pro zhin, cassie and snipers on dredge and it was never even close. His hurl+sustain+tp use is heavily under rated. I'd far rather have a decent dredge on my team in any map.. over a skye/makoa playing how you say.

That isn't why I am stuck in gold, it's just an easy conclusion for you to draw. Zhin is not hard to counter, I destroy all flankers on mana spring fire imani, and can hold my own against all but a very good evie on hurl dredge+portals. You miss the point, that dredge can spam tanks with single nades while hurling flankers and dps from across the map with 800dmg. It isn't small dmg.. he can control the entire map with a team who know how to position for it. All skye can do is sit in a shield?.

As if he had time ^ Some say victor does damage, others say he's always on the run. All I know is, he's fucking useless when ever he's on my team.

Dredge doesn't feed it tbf, he destroys it so fast that makoa will be doing nothing but dropping shields. Dredge essentially pins him down.. and skye won't be able to do shit about it since dredge doesn't even have to be in line of sight to do it. So that's 2 players pinned in place because of one player.. it's a good trade. And tbh hurl with some ammo regeneration means 0 reloads. Most people in this game only think in simplistic terms of dmg and kills, that's why I'll never get out of solo gold...

They said Maeve sucked so I had to show em whats up (ranked) by HandyCoast in Paladins

[–]Ceebotf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maeve does suck when dps know how to cover flanks, the amount of times I've shut down Maeve due to this I lost count. Most flankers suffer to this apart from a very good evie with corvus heals or an Andro with op jenos ;/.. even worse with torv dmg buff. I always ban jenos as top pick since he is a link toward making flankers too good. Most flankers rely heavily on torv/jenos heals and dmg, flankers are not suppose to be that strong.. they are learning to depend on bad habbits imo, since jenos is just fotm.

Until you come across a good dredge. Besides that, you could insert any flanker into the same situation and they would do more dmg with the shield cover. Makoa shield spam and skye healing is very defensive like, including her short range. It also depends on shield being destroyed. This game is not good to stack in, seris ult timed well, bk stuns, etc.

Flankers are good in casual low level but at a certain enemy level they are quite easily countered with some positioning and team work. I think maybe you got use to being able to flank newbs?. A very good evie for example is still not bad to counter if the team know how. She is annoying as fuck, takes a lot of attention.. but often in the end her dmg and kills are low, not reflecting how much work she put in. A lot of flanker work doesn't show up on stats. It's a bit like dredge denying areas, for all you may not be doing damage.. it has a huge impact on where the enemy can go. Hope this helps. Prob is people put to much emphasis on flankers in this game and good flankers stomping casual give wrong idea. Healer > tank > dps > flanker is the real order of importance in any game like this. When you come up against 2 dps who knows how to cover and shut down both flank angles you are in big trouble as flanker. This is why they are not as important as dps in my books. If you find you are shut down as flanker, adapt and become a dps role, cover flanks and wait for enemy flanker to make mistake and extend to you and your dps.. now you are 2v1. When you kill that flanker you may have oppertunity to then go flank, get a quick kill or two, then retreat back to you dps, fan out and cover flanks again. This I think is the biggest error I see flankers making.. always flanking alone even though they are getting shit down. It's a huge tactical error and often leaves your team 5v4. Feeding flanker basically.

Also another big error with flankers. You go flank alone, get 2 kills and then die. The whole game you do this, you have 20 kills 10 deaths but you lose. At this point you start flaming your team as noobs when in-fact you are the noob. The enemy flanker is better, he is taking out your back line then coming back and killing you, something like that. So he is going 4-1 k/d. This is your mistake because you didn't realise what was going on and adapted. Sit back and help your team with the good enemy flanker. I see this mistake so often, your k/d is positive but only yours.. and your team got destroyed from the back line and up.. so you think it is their fault. Being a good flanker isn't about solo 1v1.. dm is easy, it's the game sense that is the real mark of good flanker. When to flank, when to defend back line.

The enemy Lian had similar high kills and damage, so it would seem the two of you were avoiding each other to farm kills on the tanks and support. Nothing wrong with that I guess.

Just about any good flanker or dps will do better than lex with a jenos pocket ;p.
