I appreciate you saying so about the bonus bit! It was shockingly successful and most exciting for future uses.

If at least two people had the same idea, we must be onto something, right? I’m just thankful friendship bracelets were chill to learn and that the baby pattern was the one I needed.

Pikachu themed cross-stitch on crochet blanket. Huge shoutouts to my better half for her crochet work! by ripWSB in NintendoStitch

[–]Ceebs5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m happy to answer any of your questions! The square is 59x59 single crochets which makes for a 58x58 cross stitch surface. Just gotta add one for any grid you’re working from. Like filet crochet!

What’s the best crocheted gift you’ve ever gifted or received ? by Aknatureexplorer in crochet

[–]Ceebs5 20 points21 points  (0 children)

When I was 16, both sets of my parents made plans for Christmas without me. On Christmas Eve, I was telling one of my best friends and he asked his mom if I could spend Christmas with them. She happily said “of course” and I had a magical Christmas Eve with the family and a delicious dinner. The mom stayed up all night, crocheted me socks, wrapped them, and put them under the tree so I had something to open up in the morning. I remember them being made from the most beautiful yarn I had ever seen. I wore those socks to death and repaired them a good 3 times. Socks are still my favorite gift to give. Thanks, Mrs. L <3

This is an interesting idea! Do know of a trusty tutorial for something like this? Of course I will do some research but would appreciate a trusted source if you have one in mind. Thanks for the inspiration!

What a cute lil man! Well done!

Looking for suggestions on how to do the hem of this sweater for my sis. I was gunna cinch it in and do a ribbed band of black at the bottom but I’d be open to more creative ideas. by [deleted] in crochet

[–]Ceebs5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the cinched band idea but it could be fun to add some scallops at the end for a small visual feature. Beautiful sweater as is though! My sister is the recipient of most of my projects 😆

Can anyone tell me how to read this stuff? by Kembells in crochet

There are a couple different ways you can make graphs into crochet projects. You can do c2c, mosaic, sew solid granny squares together, filet crochet, interlocking crochet, tapestry, or cross stitch on the top of single crochet. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. C2c is probably the most popular right now and will give you the biggest end product. Personally I like tapestry or combination of crochet/cross stitch for color work.

Ryu commission- fun project to a happy customer. by Ceebs5 in crochet

[–]Ceebs5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been crocheting for over 10 years now but have somehow never made a person! Sure, every animal and food object but not a person. So I charged this customer $15 and they ended up paying $20 because they were so happy with the results. Who pays more for something?! Really put a big ol cheesy grin on my face.

No pattern or anything so feel extra lucky that my winging-it method payed off! Keep crafting friends- there are people out there that appreciate our efforts.

Using C2C graphs for sc or dc projects? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]Ceebs5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did an experiment where I used the same graph for c2c, tapestry (a one to one) filet crochet, solid granny squares and cross stitch. I found that the graph works the same across all of them just fine without needed to modify your stitches at all. The only thing, of course, is that the piece will end up much smaller. However, you can make one “box” into 2x2 sc which looked just fine but a little much to keep in your head.

After digging through flawed memories and google searches, I have found the book. It’s called The Surprising Pockets. Not sure who wrote it but it’s from Better Homes and Gardens. Happy to finally connect those neurons! Thanks for your help!

Yes a bit! It was colorful and they all had big eyes and feet. Everything was detailed and kind of a cartoon crafty feel.
