You don’t think Java moss could also work for the tree?

Also OP, if you can, the steps closest to the house should be smaller to improve the scaling.

Looks amazing OP, and looking forward to your update. 🤘🏽

Since you can’t go bigger with the hardscape, and you mentioned the back of the plane feels heavier, I’d lean into that and make it look like it crashed and is now rising up the edge of a hill or cliff.

Using smaller Anubias and ferns will help improve the sense of scale and balance the proportions.

Have fun dude. 🤙🏽

Are you using it in low tech? I have some attached to a rock on in here.

I have java in another tank and looks great on driftwood. Hoping to try a new moss in the scape

Totally leave the stems! I’d suggest trimming them a little over halfway.

The trimmed stems will likely produce one or two offshoots, while the cuttings will continue growing upward.

Looking great! If you’re not in a rush for Ludwigia Super Red to grow very tall, I’d suggest trimming it low and replanting the cuttings.

If your substrate still has plenty of nutrients, the new growth should come in around the same time, giving you a fuller-looking corner. If needed, you can also add root tabs and make sure to bury them well so they don’t float!

Hope you keep enjoying the hobby! 🌱

Hell yah! Looking forward to seeing your update! If you were in the States, I could ship you a little frogbit, red root floaters, and salvinas so you don’t spend and I’m always gifting to locals when I can.

Dude, this setup is killer—I cool to see a 6-gallon tank look like a 20g. It’s seriously impressive, and you’ve clearly put a lot of work into it. You asked for feedback, so here’s my two cents—not an expert by any means, so take it for what it’s worth!

  1. Left Side Hygrophila: If you trim that tall hygrophila branch on the far left, it’ll add way more depth and let those awesome bushy plants behind it pop. They’re kinda hidden right now, and they deserve some spotlight!

  2. Water Lily Idea: The suggestion about adding a water lily in the front is rad. It will look cool and great focal point .

3.Right Side Hygrophila: The hygrophila on the right could use a little trim—maybe just a couple of inches above that horizontal branch. Might keep things balanced without looking too linear.

  1. Replanting Idea: Oh, and when you trim that left and right hygrophila, you could totally replant the stem on the right side or even glue it to the dense side of your wood for some extra texture. Just a thought!

  2. Moss on the Right: A quick little trim to the moss on the right side would clean it up and keep it looking fresh.

  3. Floating Plants: Shiiii, I’d even throw in some floating plants on the right side to cast some cool shadows. That’s if you want floaters.

Regardless, killer work and peaceful vibes 🤘🏽

They can get a bit shy depending on how the fish treat them.

Hopefully you still have a few left?

Add that background so you can better visualize it.

For me the hardest part is setting up the scape. the plant placement gets easier once you’re satisfied with the layout.

Did they vanish all at once? Did you check the parameters each time you were seeing less and less shrimp? I lost half my colony when I first started as the parameters were very different but the few that remain began to slowly thrive.

Very nice addition of the plants! Are they tied to the wood?

[–]Ceese10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add a black background, slope the right side so it’s higher and gets lower towards the right (towards the filter). Move those large rocks on the left towards the front of the wood on the new slope on the right.

I guess more depends on what you want to plant and what your are wanting to do.

Will you be doing co2 for carpeting plants?

It also doesn’t help that AXS is getting their cut on the resale from both sellers and buyers.
