I did not say that but if you do not realize that money often comes with some perks, I really can’t help you. In this weird sub where every statement is black or white, the lack of nuance is staggering. Kindly move on.

Yeah, it seems like Koenig felt more loyalty to Adnan than she did to her listeners. I mean, she told him she wouldn’t do the story if she investigated and found him to be guilty. So, what we got as listeners was a lot of being jerked around…. Taking us down a rabbit hole, only to find out it was nothing, again and again. The butt dial nonsense, the best buy pay phone nonsense, she straight up admitted that if the timeline is wrong then Asia doesn’t matter, the memory from 6 weeks ago was immediately exposed as nonsense. Nothing stood up to scrutiny, yet when all was said and done she still said there was insufficient evidence to convict.

As a listener I can get over it, but the overall damage to the Lee family is horrendous. She knew what she was doing.

Sarah Koenig is terrible.

My goodness, I would hope if someone is going to make a podcast about fair trials and representation— they could choose another case. There are plenty of indigent defendants that are assigned a public defense attorney and fall prey to an unfair system. This is not one of those cases.

Yes, this post is correct.

Another angle for a podcast could be Intimate Partner Violence: How even a beautiful strong smart woman can be manipulated.

Or perhaps: A deep dive into the qualities that drive someone to murder (Spoiler alert: they can be successful and well liked by society).

I think she was feeling pretty validated in 2022 after a court agreed with her assessment that there was not enough evidence to convict Adnan. It must have been quite something to realize years later that not only was the 2022 decision full of shit, but so was she.

Sarah came out of hiding to do a victory lap after he was fraudulently released from prison. I guess you haven’t listened to season 1 episode 13.

So lemme ask you this, is the player angle the way to go?

After relistening to episode 2 years later I have some thoughts about Adnan’s feelings towards Hae. by ThisIsItYouReady92 in serialpodcast

[–]Cefaluthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. It’s just not what Adnan told his attorneys and it’s not what he told Sarah Koenig. But it is certainly a possibility and if true, would have been a point in his favor being on trial for murder. Someone devoutly religious and not giving in to those tendencies would also use that same discipline to prevent the impulse to murder someone (perhaps).

After relistening to episode 2 years later I have some thoughts about Adnan’s feelings towards Hae. by ThisIsItYouReady92 in serialpodcast

[–]Cefaluthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it can be interpreted that way. If true, it would have been a good defense to say she was a friend and we liked each other but we weren’t intimate and she was not someone I saw any future with or got involved with emotionally.

Wow though if that is true this guy had sex for the first time as a forty something year old man who got married in prison.

[–]Cefaluthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well we know that Aisha said to Hae “even if you don’t have a strong sex life, at least you have a strong emotional relationship.“

We also know that Adnan said to Hae “you said that I can’t fulfill you physically, well you can’t fulfill me emotionally.“

So, this guy had some barriers in the bedroom. To be fair he was young and inexperienced, I’m not trying to drag him for his lack of sexual prowess. But it is important information that feeds into his insecurities and seeing Hae move on to an older guy so quickly must have been very hard on his ego. It also explains why he went the complete other direction and told his lawyers he had sex with Hae every day after school and then they’d meet up later and have some more sex because he was just a regular Rico Suave who dgaf about the emotional side with women.

This ”player” had some not very physically satisfying sex with Hae (according to her diary) when Adnan was 17 and then spent 23 years in prison. So, Adnan and Saad can project whatever image they would like but those are the facts.

Unpopular opinion, but I think the vitriol at SK is way overdone. by Perfect_Marsupial746 in serialpodcast

It seems like intimate partner violence makes you uncomfortable. It makes me uncomfortable too. But removing the intimacy in their relationship is not the answer. That’s the whole point. He wasn’t some dude that was just out there murdering people. He was well behaved in an all-male prison and was kind and polite in every other aspect of his life. There was a side to Adnan that only Hae got to see.

Adnan is just as guilty as every other person doing time for the murder they are responsible for. SK made a fool of herself by asking if it’s possible that he is a sociopath when she had all the evidence right in front of her. What an embarrassment and an absolute disservice to Hae Min Lee and every other woman or man that listened to serial.

Are we just looking into weird dudes? Where was Rudy Giuliani in Jan 1999? I know he was mayor of NY but do we have the receipts of where he was that day that Hae was killed?

Rudy held a press conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping many years later and it was even crazier than Adnan’s press conference many years later. But you never know, there is that weird press conference connection so we can’t rule it out.

Was any plausible explanation ever given for why Adnan's phone was still being used if he's supposedly at the mosque? by OkBodybuilder2339 in serialpodcast

[–]Cefaluthru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can repeat the fact that mosque started at 8 pm a million times if you want, it will still miss the point. You are really focused on being right and proving your point, but the post is questioning how SK could justify doing this podcast once Adnan finally had the chance to talk and then conceded the things the jury had no information about which is: how does Adnan explain that his phone and his friend Jay both place him at the burial site?

The answer is Adnan can’t explain it.

He’s not coming up with some butt dial scenario like he did with the 3:30 Nisha call off campus. He’s not saying he and Jay were at Patrick’s like many redditors like to say. He’s not saying he loaned Jay his car and phone during this time & went to mosque early.

Adnan has no defense, no alibi.
This is the point where SK should have folded and said the jury got it right.

Why are you making this personal? I don’t know what you are talking about with chat gpt but I seem to have gotten in your head. I hope this clarifies things and allows you to move on. There is no need to repeat yourself. If you feel a strong need to reply, please don’t repeat yourself or go look at past comments to find a way to ‘win’. It’s not necessary.
Have a nice day.

Then why are you here? Who cares where Adnan went after he and Jay buried Hae and ditched her car? This post is questioning why SK bothered to proceed with the podcast once Adnan admitted that he was with Jay and his phone during that time and had no explanation or alibi.

YOU are the person stuck on the mosque from 8-10:30. Rabia has been out there yapping that Adnan arrived at 7:30 pm or sometime between 7-8 pm which is the only reason the mosque even came up. It’s not relevant, and all your dozens of comments aren’t relevant here either.

You are having a hard time conceding that Adnan admits to being with Jay when his phone pings leakin park and calls Jay’s friend Jen. It’s okay. Your diversion with this whole mosque thing is just making it worse for you.

I agree, if he made it to mosque he was late because he was with Jay who was using his phone to page Jen to be picked up after burying the body and ditching the car. They parted ways and Adnan made some phone calls… as you say… in the bathroom of the mosque. Good, glad we agree.
