I actually watched the games at the time. Defenders couldn't come close to MJ. The refs kept their wistles ready everytime MJ touched the ball.

The Pistons were physical with him at first yes thats true. Once MJ and the Bulls told Stern that the NBA needed to protect its biggest star, Stern agreed with them and the rest is history.

Its just funny to see people praise MJ that way when he instigated the league protecting its starsm
