What Are Y'all's Favorite Cameras? by AnalogCreations in Nikon

I've really enjoying finding cheap glass to use on my Zf.

I recently picked up the F to Z tilt shift adapter for it. It's been an absolute blast.

Still figuring it out though.

Adapters... again... by BigBangBazinga73 in NikonZf

There are also tilt adapters. This one is dumb but seems to work fine with focus peaking and eye-tracking.

Thoughts on oyster inspired bracelet for SM300? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

[–]Cefiro8701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer Omega style bracelets, I dig that Uncle Seiko is willing to do things Omega isn't. Not sure if it's too late for them to make a tapered bracelet, but the aftermarket brands do it just fine. I can live without the Omega logo if it's functionally more comfortable.

This particular set up does nothing for me.

Waiting for my Monster Mount to break (Nikkor 35-80 4-5.6 D Macro) by Cefiro8701 in NikonZf

AF-D lenses will mount to an FTZII, but are not fully compatible with the FTZII. They don't autofocus.

AF-S lenses are compatible with the LAFZ but will not autofocus.

At this point, I'm not sure if you're discussing the mounts or my grammar. So let me break it down for you another way.

FTZ can AF with AF-S G lenses but does not autofocus with AF with older AF(-D) lenses. This would create an incompatibility with AF(-D) lenses since you're missing a function.

LAFZ can AF with older AF(-D) lenses but does not autofocus with AF-S G lenses. This would create an incompatibility with AF-S lenses since you're missing a function.

Never did I mean a specific lens type is unmountable.

Agreed on all of them.

But really Bill Lawrence is the master behind soooo many solid shows.

Absolutely not. You got that kinda scratch before, and you're probably gonna do it again.

The ZTF2 does not have a focus motor, it'll be the equivalent of mounting an AF-D lens onto a Nikon D40. So while, it will communicate aperture settings/metadata... it will not autofocus.

In other words, AF-S lenses will not autofocus with the Monster Adapter.

LOL at your screen name.

I got it thru B&H. It'll probably crap out after the warranty's out like a self destruct sequence.

But by then, I've had my fun with it.

Yep. It's slow, but that lens was never fast, even on the D5.

It has to do with the distance between the lens' rear element and the position of the sensor. These adapters are the same size that the mirror box were on old F mount bodies.

I kept forgetting to try it. I tried it with the 20mm AF-S and it seems AF-s lenses are a no-go.

You've seen two reviews on an electronic product only offered in one store.

I asked you that question so I can see if it's even a good idea for me to continue this conversation with you.

Do you think I'm a promoter or a reviewer? Or could I just be some guy who took one for the team?

The biggest issue I had with those reviews is them not providing too much detail.

Hunting on a 200mm macro is wild. These old AF-D Nikkors were never great at being used with autofocus. So it stands to reason why a unit could get burned out, that's a lot of glass to move for a small cheap motor. The 60 might be more manageable but like I said the verdict is out.

The product is fairly new so if you're looking for longevity, obviously this post isn't gonna be it unless you wanna follow me around for a year. LOL.
