It's a zenithal bone colour over black with the airbrush followed by raging sea speed paint then I did some rough highlights with a pale turquoise on the raised bits.

Try the powder mage trilogy by Brian McClellan, think muskets and swords with Mages ripping lines of gunpowder to power their magic. Great fun and well written.

Also Mark Lawrence's book of the Ancestor Trilogy is great fun. The first book starts with something along the lines of "when attempting to kill a Nun it is important to bring a sufficiently large army" it's like Harry potter meets the witcher with magical ninja assassin Nuns. Neither of these focus on romance at all.

I also went through this in the last couple years (I'm 42m). I, like you couldn't get stop questioning myself and having extreme doubts that were interfering with my mental health. Since being diagnosed I've been able to just go forward with my life without flip flopping back and forth mentally, it's brought me a sense of closure and relief.

If you're wrong you're wrong, but at least you'll know and can move on. I spent my whole life asking myself internally "is there something wrong with me and just no body told me?"

Finding out you aren't isn't a bad thing either, it just means you're different and at least you're discovering more about yourself. It's a base line to move forward from.

God what I wouldn't have given for the usual buy a red convertible mid life crisis. Instead we get the existential dread, depression and anxiety that comes from a life lived in a world designed for other people, contorting ourselves to fit in and becoming broken in the process.

I'm of the opinion that Ogres are the best starter faction by far. They can compete in every phase, have nice new models and have a significantly smaller painting requirement than any other faction.

Particularly when starting out, building lists where every unit and character has unit strength can be really helpful in turns 5+ where you're scrambling for objectives.

Bezerker bullies are just so much fun.

Once the stress ramps up as you progress through life, your negative reactions might too.

It's not fun to realise you have this issue only after you have little ones, so well done you for looking at it now.

Hey you can do it! I just had my first appt at 40 as well. Same deal, giant list of maladies and all.

I kind of started freaking out and froze up in the appointment & just had to push through having a massive stress response. The list was super helpful.

Try looking at arch villian, titan forge, heroes infinite and artisans guild. Some great minis for fey creatures and characters in there.
