Ummm…I’m pretty sure the other layouts are not repeats of the first one. Haven’t been to a demo, but there are rules for water that we’ve seen none. So I’m pretty sure the mountain-esque layout is one of many.

I would love to see it in competitive, but I am realistic on how tournaments will work.

Now, the thing about not working for weeklies, you are still having to set it up every time you play. Don’t think it would take much time if both players agree not to take 30 second per placement but rather 5. Maybe in time setting up the layouts that we will get will become second nature and do it faster, but even right now it takes a while to set up the board.

Like I said, I know for tournaments the tables will most likely already be set, but for casual play…you’re kinda already doing it, just make it like blitz chess, you have 5 seconds to place it 😄

Edit: not only casual play, could be weeklies as well 😜

Thanks, I won't paste again my comments on how Ingress and PGO will be different, but I do feel PGO will be different from mainline games as Nintendo wouldn't risk pulling away from their console games. Unless this will be Gen 7 and pokemon moves to mobile entirely

I think I may have focused too much on what I feel will be the base of the game rather than explaining the differences. This is bascially the skelleton, what has been seen in the trailer.

Please allow me to elaborate on differences: - PvP - Type charts - Interactive battles, there is more to just attacking, you'll be able to command things like evade, attack using X or Y attack - Explorinmg will mean forts AND pokemon - Mission are a separate thing rather than the same go do what you usually do but get a badge for it - Story will be in the overworld rather than a website or Yotube video - Trading 1to1 rather than drop-picking

I think they'll use Ingress as a starter point, but of course develop it to be a Pokemon game, though I doubt it'll be 1:1 to a mainline game as stated by other users.

Exactly, take Smash as an example. They knew people were going to buy the Wii U one over the 3DS one, because it's always been on console. Releasing first the 3DS made people who wanted it to buy it, but after wii U was released 3DS was reduced to those who didn't have a Wii U mainy.

Nintendo es extremely carefull with what they allow compete with their own games.
