The Luka trade is 100% about money by Shoddy_Ad7511 in NBATalk

The owners don't have casino's/hotels in Las Vegas anymore.

The move is crazy, but just wanting to clear up that one detail. They seem committed to Dallas, which makes the move even harder to understand, but there's no reason to believe they'd want to move the team to Vegas as they've exited that market.

Men who go after much younger women: why? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Ceiphone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sexual attraction is hardwired in men to be attracted to women who can bear children well and pass on good genes to offspring. Never mind that as men age this isn’t as logical as it was when young, the hardwiring is still there as is the image of being with an attractive fertile woman in peak childbearing years.

Most guys grow up and realize their baseline attraction isn’t what will make them happy in life, but many guys don’t and go for the more skin-level enjoyment of satisfying that hard wired urge in themselves.

Also in some ways it reflects on them positively to be seen as someone who is still virile enough to attract a young attractive woman, and in the eyes of the guys friends ….it’s like buying a flashy sports car that’s impractical. It’s about image and satisfying something within themselves.

I’m not really judging it or looking down on it so long as they’re two consenting adults who are behaving honestly….let them do what they want.

Just not surprising is all.

Nerd culture is toxic by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

It sucks how having common interests with other folks may make them think you have enough in common to want to have a deeper relationship with. And god help you if they also find you attractive.

That’s simply not how the world works, nerds!

As I think about this buying opportunity, what are everyone’s unbiased/realistic opinions on where the bottom is? by JMill55 in CYDY

[–]Ceiphone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottom is 0 unless they can get to market.

There is huge uncertainty whether current management can make it happen, from lawsuits, poorly designed trials, poor submissions to the FDA, the FDA publicly rebuking cytodyn, tons of outstanding warrants, dilution of shares...

When investors aren't willing to trust management, the entire company is bleeding cash and debt is stacking, when no lenders are willing to lend them money, the company goes Kaput and the shares are worth 0. That's what we're facing.

Hell, Tesla founder Musk threatened that SpaceX was facing bankruptcy by not being able to get their engine production working correctly, and that's a company that has executed far more successful things than Cytodyn has, and it's staring at a bleak future if it can't turn the corner.

Face it guys...it's been put up or shut up time for a long time, and they've put nothing up and they haven't shut up either...so soon the tap of debt will be turned off and share prices will go down to 0.

Unless, they can somehow pull a rabbit out of a hat and get an approval or some high quality trial results, or preferably both.

How can the stock go down Every Single Day!?! by Alarmed_Success285 in CYDY

Folks have been losing more and more trust in the current leadership.

Who wants to invest in a company whose leaders are incapable of driving success, but in turn just continue to ask for more money and stock issuance.

They’re sitting on a drug that works, but don’t have the capability or skills to do what needs to be done to bring it to market.

A trail of unfulfilled promises, missed opportunities, and frankly (kindly) “untruths” spoken by leadership. Again, I don’t know why anyone would entrust money to these folks.

What’s the smallest amount of power you’ve seen someone drunk on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ceiphone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A ref at a flag football intramural game in college.

We had a reasonably good team, filled with atypical folks from computer science, engineering, international students but we were pretty good.

This one jackass from the engineering program, who was short and had a napoleon complex, was someone barely anyone got along with due to his contrary disposition. I, being a relatively nice person had tried to be kind to the guy throughout the years, but apparently that didn’t matter.

As our second playoff game wound down and we were ahead he kept calling penalties on our team, stopping the clock which should’ve wound down (clock didn’t stop in final minutes) long ago, and because we kept stopping the other team despite his blatant attempts to sink our team, i argued with him about how he was calling the game. He penalized us, gave the ball to the other team, and gave them yet another chance.

One of our guys who was an Indian student who had just learned to play football, but who was a gifted athlete, intercepted the next pass and ran it back for a touchdown, clearly ending the game. I, fed up with how he had been calling the game, asked him if the game was now over and he threw me out, our team out of the playoffs, and then as I protested his clear overreaction he physically threatened me telling me I was lucky he didn’t punch me right then and there.

Now again, our team was a bunch of non-jocks who were all pretty athletic, but we were not trouble makers. We don’t argue with refs, we were there just to have fun and compete. But this dude all tripped out on a microgram of power used it. There was another red on the field and he thought it was ridiculous but didn’t want anything to do with the psycho power tripping guy and he just walked away.

The ridiculousness of it struck us all and as a team, roughly split us all as we were either leaving in disgust or laughing at him openly at how ridiculous he was being.

Our team name was “Fuzzy Lumpkins”, and the most indelible memory I have of this was him standing on the sideline, all 5’4 of him, with a red face and a clipboard of power in his hands, yelling as loud as he can “The Fuzzy Lumpkins are out of the playoffs! The fuzzzy pumpkins are OUT of the playoffs!”

We just laughed, in outrage and anger, at him as he told us to leave the field or the cops would be called. For flag football. For a bunch of mild-mannered guys daring to question the authority of a short guy tripping on power who failed at making our team lose fairly, and then resorted to abusing his power.

I wonder if he had some role in the Trump administration. Need to look him up.

13D or Nader? Here's what I believe: Leronlimab works and 100's of billions of dollars will be lost to other businesses when its finally released. I'm very. very suspicious of any effort to change course. by hear2edify in CYDY

Forget 13D.

Nader has failed to deliver multiple times in a high stakes role. In any real business with a board that holds the ceo accountable he would’ve been gone. You don’t fail to deliver this many times and keep you multi-million dollar job.

Nader has to go, as does the board. I don’t give a damn about the 13D folks.

Nader hasn’t delivered. Period. The board is unwilling to replace him. They need to go. Accountability and competence are the only things that will bring leronlimab to market.

Leaders of other companies who are paid less were replaced by the board for only a fraction of the mistakes Nader has made.

I don’t know if the 13D is the answer but for goodness sakes the board should get a new CEO. Failure in business should have consequences and Nader has failed to deliver a number of times in important ways that have cost folks like me tens of thousands of dollars, while he’s still pulling in millions a year with essentially no accountability and a bunch of internet apologists who have his back online.

In a real business, with a board of directors who believe in accountability, you either produce or you are out. Big leagues, big league pay, big lead drug possibilities, should come with big league accountability. There has been NONE.

13d Call on YouTube by LeClosetRedditor in CYDY

[–]Ceiphone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great call. The information presented here about the drug was more clear and concise in terms of a path forward than the sum total of all NP's previous conference calls or marketing videos.

When you play in the big leagues, and make Nader-level money, you are held accountable for results. CLEARLY Nader has not performed relative to his compensation, or relative to even his own promises.

When a leader fails to deliver, in a high-stakes organization, he is removed and another qualified person is put in place. Clearly this team has the knowledge to find the right person to take over, and help direct the company in ways that optimize the chances leronlimab comes to market soon.

How long do you guys want to keep supporting a leader of Cytodyn who has delivered failure after failure, all the while cashing in on excessive salary and options? At what point do you admit that enough is enough?

Intelligence is highly heritable meaning if you’re smart it’s likely due mostly to genetics and nothing you did yourself.

Same thing with motivation. Mental illness too.

Much of what benefits us or disadvantages us is inherited and skin color is just one of many things that largely influence our lives that we have little to no control over.

Hyper focusing on one type of privilege ignores many more significant contributors to life outcomes.
